There are definitely goalies that are worth that contract, the problem as I stated before, is that those goalies usually dont get those contracts until theyre about 28, when, unless theyre a rare breed, they start falling apart. Vasilevsky is worth every cent of his contract, and Dallas is going to get Oettinger for cheaper because they arent stealing him from another team, but his contract will be a steal.

of the 12 goalies paid over 5 mill, 6 of them have been to the Stanley Cup in the last 5 years, 3 more have a good shot of making it this year, and theres 10 cups between them. They get their pay days too late because of that mentality, which perpetuates that thinking

I put 5 mill as the target because at 9 mill the list of goalies in general is short, at 3, 2 of them were in the cup final last year, 2 have a good chance to be there this year and there are 2 cups won. So that kinda back fired on you
