Buffalo is nothing like the Lions lol

I mean how many guys stay in buffalo after their RFA ends? How many guys request trades out of Buffalo? How many guys are still on the team that were drafted in the top 2-3 rounds over the past 10 years that are still Sabres? Only the guys that are forced to be Sabres... LOL its the Lions, your unlucky to get drafted there and cant wait to leave...

The list of top draft picks in the last 10 years is likely as short as the list of goalies making $9.5M. Im not discounting Oettinger, im just saying your risk / reward here is ridiculous. 95% of goalies who get contracts over $7M crap the bed after. Or even $5M. you dont pay someone for what they did in the past Ken Holland... You pay the goalie based on consistency... You pay a goalie that much and he better be stealing you games. If he isnt ready for that role either, you burned out a guy who eats $9.5M of CAP for you too.

Carey Price made it to 1 cup final and it might have ended his career
Bobrovsky... LMAO last years playoffs
Murray... LOL - no comment
Binnington.. Highly overpaid back up right now
Vas & Fleury are all you have in that conversation.. but Vas was making $3.5m for 3 years putting up over .900 SAA and under 3 ga for all 3 of those years before that deal.

Oettingers career currently mirrors Murray & Binnington... guy needs a $4M 3-4 year deal. prove he can hang in the number 1 spot longer and then get that big deal

How many players does Buffalo want to keep after their RFA ends. 1 Primadonna, who still hasnt made the playoffs, requested a trade. Are you asking what 2nd and 3rd rounders from the last 10 years are on the Sabres? 1, dont know why we would care, when our roster is made up of 1st rounders and winning. Also the Lions will never have a chance to be good, because they are owned by the Green Bay Packers.

The point was that no one wants to be in Buffalo, like no one wants to be a Lion. Moving the team to Quebec might help... But seriously paying an unproven guy $9.5M is still a horrible idea no matter what team you are.. It sounds like your saying you dont care if the Sabres cant draft talent... they are just going to overpay players to somehow string together wins.

Explain to me what full of first rounders and winning means? Last 11 years Sabres finished in the league: 24, 31, 25, 27, 31, 26, 23, 30, 30, 23, 19... I must have missed the "winning portion"

The Sabres are going to have 40mill in caps space. I think they have the highest or 2nd highest in the league. They're clearly not overpaying anyone. The New NHL strays away from giant UFA splashes, they dont help build teams. The Sabres can draft talent and you'll see plenty of winning while Detroit stalls out with Veleno and Zadina being such great picks. The only players that dont want to be in Buffalo are players we dont want in Buffalo. Eichel is a primadonna who thinks hes bigger than he is, and hes another Evander Kane bringing toxicity to every locker room he touches. The Sabres locker room has not been happier in the last decade than it is now

Easy no on an offer-sheet of that magnitude, the 2023 1st is untouchable and no goalie is worth 2 1sts, 1 2nd, 1 3rd and a 5x9.5mil contract. That gets you a one way ticket to cap hell.

Not interested in trading Mitts; he'll break out next year and getting 2 2nds for him is just not worth it in the long run.
