what does he need immigration paperwork for he is going from a American College team to American NHL team?

He was born in B.C I think.
So he's officially moving to America now

Per Kevin Weekes, the 2023 Winter Classic will be Penguins @ Bruins.

I don't understand why the NHL keeps giving outdoor games to the same teams

They seem to like having teams in the Winter Classic that have been around for a while. But with the Stadium Series they mix things up, this year's obviously was Lightning @ Preds, next year's is Caps @ Hurricanes.

Well outdoor games can only really be in places that are cold enough and you want them to have fans who will attend so Canadian and Northern US teams are much more likely to have one

still thought nashville had a Outdoor game in 2020 why couldn't have been TBL vs. CBJ or NYI or FLA or any other team that didn't already have had a outdoor game in the past few years

I understand that but still and plus they had on in Texas in 2020 and I wouldn't say Tennessee is that cold either

“And his growth has made him a really valuable asset on the backend to help fill a need. And he’s managed while dragging around a declining Zdeno Chara through much of this year”

Shout out to Shayna Goldman. There is way too much Chara propaganda out there, in 10 years when Chara is retired (hopefully) , the 21-22 season should be recognized as a stain on his legacy. He broke the games played record while being arguably the worst defenseman in the NHL

I get that those teams make sense to HOST, but why can't they have the visiting teams be ones that haven't experienced it yet? Obviously, you can't have an outdoor game in Florida, Vegas, etc., but you can have them visit, like when VGK played the Avs at Lake Tahoe. Why not have, say, the Panthers visit the Bruins? Great matchup, and the former hasn't had an outdoor game yet.

Well stadium games are usually rivalry games and well teams in hotter locations don't really have a rival in a cold location ( minus some Pacific teams )

They shouldn't be about rivalries. They should be about good matchups. I'd much rather see Lightning @ Preds than Devils @ Rangers right now, even if the latter is a rivalry.

gimme habs bruins/ leafs bruins any day of the week indoors/outdoors. twice on saturdays or sundays. doesnt matter if one team is garbo and the other is the best in the conference those games are always heated and entertaining

People can actually expect that those league-minimum players may have rocky roads post-NHL, partly because some make poor financial decisions or lack financial advice for such short careers. I just fail to see how Chris Pronger tried to garner sympathy, he simply raised awareness on a topic that is never really discussed because the general consensus is that pro athletes live in a golden world and never have to worry about money. Awareness has never killed anyone.

It's hardly because of them making poor financial decisions, It's a lot harder to live off of 50k a year than 2.5mil a year. League minimum players are almost guaranteed to require a second career regardless of they get a concussion or not. The average fan might not know about escrow or agent fees, but maybe it's because he's too busy working 9-to-5 paycheck to paycheck to care about whether or not a multimillionaire's retirement is sustainable long term. 64% of Americans and 53% of Canadians are living that way and it's more likely that a former hockey player who never made more than a million a year would be in that category. Framing the conversation around someone making 6 million a year isn't exactly relatable to the average fan. Awareness never killed anyone but there's more relevant things I'd rather be aware about.

All of this is rich coming from Chris Pronger, someone who had their fair share of less than legal hits on talented players and amassed over 111,000,000 over his career. This is more of ploy to get people to invest in his brand of luxury vacations than it is to bring awareness to the financial burdens of his fellow hockey player.

Fun fact 4 u: If the game is being held at Fenway Park, that would mean that game would be hosted by the owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Who wins the Calder in 2022-23? My early guess is Matthew Beniers.

Alex Holtz (no bias)

I also think Beniers is gonna win since he’s gonna be 1C on a weak Kraken team. More ice time = more production
