I’d just call them a 30 goal pace player just for technicality

Some guy on here said Gallagher wasn't a 30-goal scorer in the two previous seasons and that it was advanced stats to make the simple math (14 x 82 ÷ 35 = 32.8) and (22 x 82 ÷ 59 = 30.6)

Well Gallagher did only play 35 games last year but he has definitely been a good 25-30 goal guy ( minus this year )

Let's say the said player scored 30+ goals in the two seasons before the two shortened seasons, would he not still be considered a 30 goal scorer if he keeps up the same pace?

Would you consider Brock Boeser a 30 goal scorer because he has 117 goals in 317 games in his career which is is equivalent to 30 goals every 82 games

Well Boeser every season seems to be in the 30 goal range, it's better to go off by season then career because going by seasons shows growth/consistency, etc

Considering there were only 5 30-goal scorer that season, the same math applies to a lot of players. Sure Gallagher played less games, but I don't know if it really matters when the guy had 30 goals (or 30 goal pace) in the three previous seasons and 14 in 35 is impressive as it's more than 60% of the season, not just a random sample size.

Career/Seasons are two different things man, but yeah, Boeser is widely viewed as a winger able to score 30 goals and if a shortened season's goal pace is equivalent to 30 goals for him, I wouldn't see that as a fluke.
