Feels like too big of a risk for NYI to take on two young guys. Understand buying on belief of what they could bring in the future but I feel like that package could bring in a more cemented talent. I would love to try and pry Bjorkstrand out of Columbus

2 overpayments and a good deal. I like reilly a lot and its one of the few deals on here that both fanbases agree on.

Columbus is not trading Bjorkstrand.

But this deal is bad for Columbus too. Texier has untapped potential. Same for Bemstrom. The Jackets are still reshaping the team and getting rid of two young players full of potential for an underperforming winger, a 29 year old defenseman, and a 1st that is protected from the top 10 in the draft, where most of the best talent is, is a very bad deal, and very bad asset management. I would rather use those two players in a bigger deal for a center.

Ottawa declines. Bailey couldn't crack our top 6 and still has 2 seasons with a $5M cap hit. If Ottawa wants experience in the bottom 6 they'll just re-sign Ennis for another 900K.

I could see CBJ doing that. Happy with a mid-to-mid-high first, Scott Mayfield fills a need at B4 RD, and we roll the dice on Bellows.

Bemstrom definitely needs a change of scenery, but ultimately I don't think Tex is moved. I think a lot of the trade talk around him was less CBJ looking to move him, and more other teams asking. Kid was having a phenomenal year before family leave.
