Maybe he goes to Buffalo, but I think he may go to Detroit. Him, or Martinez. One of them would be a great partner for Seider! Would help Edvinsson not get first pair minutes on his first year too.

Does Muzzin play the right side at all? Not a fan of moving a rookie to their offside

i love how muzzin is now basically worthless because he had a rough 25 games. if he played for any other team people would be saying he's worth a 1st and a top prospect still because "he'll bounce back when he's healthy"

Theres probably 4-5 teams willing to give Miheyev 3.5mil per. he was also outspoken earlier in the year with wanting a trade out of TO, dont see him resigning or giving a discount.
Domi also doesnt take a 3 year discount deal either. Its in his best interest to sign a one year deal in the best spot he can, rack up the points, then sign a better aav deal in free agency the year after

he wanted a trade because he wasnt getting minutes (he never earned those minutes and was also hurt a lot) Now he is getting those minutes so why would he not re-sign with the leafs unless someone else gave him way too much money?

Whomp whomp whomppppp...ask Habs fans how that feels tears of joy

In fairness, I feel like the majority of these Muzzin trades have been made BY Leafs fans. It's not like someone is coming along and saying "$hhhhiiiitttt, let's steal Muzzin!", it's Leafs fans who are like "Yeah, let's shed that cap!".

Just on dumping players though, and maybe this is a bit ramble-y, but-I feel like the realistic method here is to simply continue to add to a contender, not to subtract for good players for picks and then replace with shiny similar things...It's like Kerfoot. 1 year left on his contract-good player, definitely a good guy to have, but the teams that would be interested in him would be contenders, no? Which would make zero sense for the Leafs to trade with, because you'd essentially be making yourself worse while making another team that you're competing with better.

Sure, i get the issue was his lack of mins, but now this AGM has TO signing a FA to play ahead of him in the lineup, effectively taking more mins than him.
Plus as i said, theres got to be at least a half dozen teams willing to pay him 3.5 mil per (think kapanen or Johnsson as comparables)

yes there are leaf fans making the muzzin trades, but the responses from other fans is as if hes a cap dump and isnt good anymore

There is a difference between and cap dump and a cap casualty.

Sure, but I feel like the argument should be less "He isn't a cap dump" and more "Why are we trading away a piece that we'll then need to replace?"

Plus, his NTC (followed by a M-Ntc on July 1st, 2023) should really be the first thing that anyone argues.

Because you brought up the trade request like it was a sure sign he was out no matter what. I was pointing out otherwise

I brought up the trade request because it was clear evidence that theres a rift between Mikheyev and TOR management.
Theres no other concrete evidence to otherwise suggest this has been mended and still would remain as a factor in whether or not he'd resign

If a previous request is proof of intent, then dubas not moving him as he does for every player who wants a fresh start, is also proof of intent

Who else in TOR made a public open request for a trade in the last 2-3 years?

Similar situation in BOS with DeBrusk, who was open about wanting a trade and he just re-upped for two extra years.

Not impossible that the two sides have mended whatever issues they had and Mik could very well re-sign in the offseason.
