B Prospect or 2nd rounder early in 2nd round which Sens can give

Hawks are probably better off hoping he bounces back next season, puts up 30, then they trade him for a 1st.

I've seen everything from a second plus a good prospect to a fourth (today); I think that he's toward the upper range of that (i.e., a first-half second).

The decision point is this year as his contract ends this year. I don't think that he fits in the rebuild and hasn't been great, might not even be qualified. I think a second is to much, I'd be willing to give a third in a later draft. He is probably not worth a second considering that is what Strome goes for on this site.

It makes zero sense for the hawks to trade him low. They can easily sign him again and give him another chance.

He is also 26 and the Hawks are entering a rebuild, it might depending on how they see him, the smartest thing to do would be to trade him now because his value wont increase on a rebuilding team, that is if you qualify him.

It doesn't. I'm straight up telling you it doesn't make sense. His value can absolutely increase if he plays better.

Dude, if you don't give a good player good linemates then he can't play to his full potential. He is 26 and going into a rebuilding team. They may not even be able to sign him as Chicago has had a load of problems this season. Fine, qualify him but you won't get much. And hey, if you're telling an athlete he needs to play better then he/she already knows and it won't do anything. He may need a change of scenery.

They just traded Hagel, they have no choice but to put him in the top 6. He will get better opportunities with Hagel gone.

i get what youre saying about current point production, but he did score 30 goals two years ago. there is a lot higher potential in him than a guy like Paul or Joseph

Hawks would be much better off signing him to a one or two year deal and letting him try and prove himself than trade him for 3rd.

Okay, maybe put a little bit of stock into potential but he hasn't been great in the last two seasons but hey, he might break out if things return to normal. I think that a 3rd and sixth or seventh would get it done because it is like a late seventh and a lottery ticket.
