He's the highest plus-player on the entire team.
He plays both wings.
He plays PP.
He plays PK.
He's very well liked by his team-mates.
He's very well liked by the fans.
He still has term.
He's very cheap for what he does.

It's Detroit that decides what it takes for another team to get him.

He does all this because there are not better players ahead of him. On a good team he's very possibly a 3rd liner. Being the best on a bad team doesn't mean you are automatically better on a much better team. In most cases you have less opportunity and your production drops
