Holl's got another year left at $2M, in what world is that worth a 2nd to take on? Arizona got a 2nd (and a 7th) for taking on TWO years of Shayne Gostisbehere at $4.5M, so your valuation is way off here

At this value Ottawa can't refuse but one thing to consider :

Nylander has only ONE more year before UFA than Brown

What would he cost on his next contract? Would he re-sign with Ottawa? What if he doesn't? You trade him at the deadline while trying to make the playoffs, maybe for the first time in 6-7 years?

So consider all this vs maybe knowing that you can re-sign Brown 5 years at 5.0 (for example). You already know how efficient he is in his role on the team and the chemistry, etc.

Still can't turn down that offer but damn it's a tough decision

All that being said, Leafs can get a better return elsewhere
