That’s your problem. You are trying to make a comparable trade with a player that is worse than Manson. Right now, I don’t think Montreal will get more than a second round pick for Chiarot. Especially after that Manson trade, anyone that is worse, won’t get as much.

When did the Canes call for Chiarot? Why would we downgrade from Cole for Chiarot? Plus, Chiarot won’t be getting that much after the Manson trade. Manson is better, and he only got 2 seconds (pick and former second rounder in Helleson). This is just wishful thinking.

Also Zacha gets more than a late 3rd and a fringe 3C.

Lehkonen for that package with our RW depth and lack of LW depth is probably a no go as it just doesn't fit our needs.

Getting rid of Armia's contract is a good thing for a rebuild/retool team but that being said trading for a LD doesn't make sense. Petterson is a good young guy but he would just be preventing a guy like Guhle from making the team.

Zacha has never been a fringe player... He hasn't lived up to his draft position, but he's been a full time NHLer since a year after he was drafted.

Devils aren't going to downgrade him, he'll get traded with a package for an upgrade, or they'll move him for a more needed position, like RD or Goaltending.
