Sanheim is great but if he costs Beauvillier it’s not worth it. Wouldn’t you think the team is better with one of Gostisbehere or Mike Reilly + Beauvillier or Sanheim alone.

I'm not so sure. It's a chance to start again in the NHL. While the team is a bottom feeder this season, there is too much young talent for this team to stay that way for much longer.

That said, I'm not enamored with the trade. VO is likely to be re-signed by the Sabres and he is worth more than a cap dump in Varlamov and a failing prospect in Bellows. I can see the Sabres being willing to take both Bellows and Varlamov, but not for a top 6 forward. Something more like Casey Firtzgerald or Rasmus Asplund and a pick for both.
