My first ever Colorado AGM team! This is just a thought I had here. You don't often see top-10 scorers get traded mid-season, but in this sign and trade deadline move, I feel like it would be a win-win for all involved.

Certainly, I can see the Avs making more deadline moves, but this move would be thinking beyond a rental and would lock up a legitimate 2C at what I am sure will be a more reasonable number than top-10 point-getting, Nazem Kadri. Obviously, you would hate to mess with the chemistry of this team, but I feel like it would be worth it.

For those that think Kadri for Hertl in a sign-and-trade is unfair for Colorad, San Jose could always throw in a player like D Jacob Middleton or a future asset, which in turn, the Avs could use in their deadline rental shopping.

If San Jose is trading Hertl it will be for futures not another pending UFA

Bc if the avs can afford hertl they can afford kadri, so why trade for a player when they can keep their own

San Jose isn’t trading hertl for a pending ufa, they for sure aren’t throwing jn other assets with hertl

This move doesn’t help either teams

Yeah neither team does, both are pending UFA’s. Kadri is having a monster year that COL rides. Hertl has a 3 team trade to list which I’m sure COL is on, but how much would COL be willing to give up for rental?

Should Hertl not resign with SJ I would not be surprised at all for the Avs to get him. It would just be for futures and not for Kadri.
