LOL I was talking to another Blackhawks fan who said they'd do something like this, figured it was worth a shot

Id rather go after McCabe anyhow, wonder what would be needed to get him. LA has a need for LHD they could afford both Muzzin and Chychrun going into next year

If Chicago can get that much for Murphy than you're gonna have to really juice up that muzzin trade.
the leafs dont do a single one of those trades, not even close

well they'd have to be the ones offering it because there is no way the leafs even consider that trade

I wouldn’t do that Chicago trade if I was you. Save that money, get some depth. I believe you should get a top 4 RHD though, but McCabe is not needed. Dermott could fill that hole and is he way cheaper! I agree with the other trades though. Move Muzzin, Holl, Kerfoot, Mrazek, and gather the money. Do you think Woll is ready? If so, then there is no need for Koskinen if he’s not, he’s all yours! Having that 2.5M from not getting McCabe, and playing Dermott could be used for depth, or a better top 4 defence man. This team could be good next season if they play their cards right… Next year could be the year they make it passed the first round.. This is how I would make it, the spots without names is for you to fill.

    Bunting-Matthews-Marner
    Robertson-Tavares-Nylander
    THIRD LINE LW-Kampf-Kase
    FOURTH LINE LW-FOURTH LINE C-Simmonds

    Reilly-Brodie
    Sandin-TOP 4 D
    Dermott-Liljegren

    Campbell
    BACKUP GOALIE

I agree that Koskinen, or Woll, Engvall, Spezza, Parise could fill those holes, but there may be better options out there for certain positions. You guys just have a few holes to fill.. the hardest will be the top 4 defence man. If you play your cards right, you can get one.

I am the one he was talking to on another thread. I would do this or something similar if I were CHI's GM. CHI is only wasting prime years for Murphy and McCabe and we should be opening up NHL roster spots for prospects to fill. I think TOR would be much more apt to decline than CHI would. Also, real hockey executives and their staff know better than to pass judgment on players based on stat lines, unlike all the goons on here.

I think Kase will be an one year and done experiment, as he continues to prove that he is injury prone. So re-upping him at anything over $1.1 million would be a mistake.

We are not going to give up picks for Muzzin plain and simple. He's too old and the contract too big. The kings are one of the youngest teams and already second in the Pacific as of right now. We would rather let our young guys develop and not have to give up picks and cap space.
