Tough offseason coming for Treliving.
Need to hope Monahan plays well down the stretch/playoffs. Otherwise the Flames are including a sweetener to move him for a minimal return.
The Flames have exercised their leverage on Mangiapane twice now, making him take his QO and then on his current 2yr deal. This is a guy that may score 40 goals this season. He's a core part, it's time to treat him like one.
Kylington will be an interesting negotiation. He will be a year from UFA, the Flames likely need to make a commitment to him. Could be anywhere from3-4.5 depending on term.
So much of this offseason will be dependant upon the playoffs. If the Flames are able to have some level of playoff success, they need to do everything they can to extend Tkachuk and Gaudreau. Won't be cheap, likely 20 million between the two.
Gudbranson has been a good fit and I think the Flames would love to keep him, they just can't do it at his 1.95, never mind giving him a raise. He's a guy who's made quite a bit of money in his career and he's bounced around a fair bit. He's got a young family, I'm sure he'd love to find a home for multiple seasons. I'd offer him the Zach Bogosian deal 850k x3 with some form of NTC for a little security for Gudbranson. Maybe, he wants to chase money, but if I'm the Flames I'd pitch him on some security rather than money.
Sorry for the long post lol, but one last thing. I wonder if the Flames look at dipping into LTIR this offseason given their cap crunch. Maybe look to take on a guy like Weber who won't be playing again
