Seems pretty reasonable if Guerin gets the sense he can’t sign McBain.

I don’t think McBain is near ready for the show. But if he’s really interesting for the leafs, what about Liljgren or Dermott? Not sure Anderson means anything.

No thanks. Put a c prospect. Because this winger prospect will not crack lineup in Minnesota. He can't even get 4th line winger in Toronto

I say this as the biggest Joey Anderson supporter...I'd rather have McBain. Think he will be 4C grinding role, some greasy goals, and high faceoff %

Coaches/GMs/Owners hardly ever care to make feel good stories by adding home grown players. It's sometimes a mistake when they do (ahem J.T. signing with Toronto).

The thing is the leafs would have all the leverage in a trade. If McBain wants he can just sign anywhere a few months later, obviously McBain is probably the better prospect but Anderson seems like the type of player Minnesota turns into a really solid third liner. I thought about Dermott as well but I feel like Anderson's upside is higher and would interest Minnesota more.

That’s fine, I don’t need to move him so we “don’t lose him for nothing” but to actually improve the team. If a team says he’s what needs to be added to a 3rd rounder to get a deal done this TDL awesome, otherwise keep trying to sign him. I know the Wild are gonna be heavy on Meyers and he’s a much better fit and if that means letting McBain walk then so be it. I just don’t see the hype on McBain.

Idk Toronto doesnt seem to value his skillset too much, I feel like hes the type that needs to play all around the line up. Minny already spreads out talent like crazy, I think pairing him with Foligno would be sick.

Greenway is here for the next 3 years and we also have duhaime on his rookie contract

Thats true too, but with the wild being in a cap crunch for the next couple years I could see them valuing quality players on the minimum even more.

The thing is McBain is going to have a choice to become a UFA as he has completed his 4 years of college and is looking more and more to be the next Kerfoot, Vesey, Fox etc. So Minnesota might not have a choice but to take what they can get

As yes he looks okay but Vesey's rights went for a 3rd but that ended up not being anything good as he didnt end up going to Buffalo and signed with the NYR.

Got a feeling Minnesota is gonna look to trade his rights or let him walk

Way to exaggerate with the “Anderson dominating the AHL” nonsense

Lol
