I think the Canucks would have to take that deal- assuming their able to sign Miller (keeping both Miller and Boeser would be difficult without shedding salary somewhere else). Boesers average skating, turnovers and inconsistency worry me, might never reach his full potential, which would be 40+ goals/yr. Anyone signing him to 7mil+ long term might regret it.

Jack Campbell let in 5 goals last night. Leafs should be able to sign him for 2 million.

Yeah, no chance the Leafs do that. They don't really need Severson at this point cause he's not what we're looking for. Liljegren is projected to be our top 4 rd in a year or two and while he hasn't looked great in a top 4 role he's been great in a bottom-pairing role with sandin. For his first year I'll take it. Severson just won't fit what the leafs are looking for. Giving up a 1st, your future 2nd pairing dman, and holl who while hasn't been great this season could easily rebound next season considering how well he played last season. If I'm really giving up that many assets I'd go for a legit difference making d-man who'd perform very well in the playoffs.

So many Devils fan seem upset that the Leafs didn't acquire Severson. If he so valuable, don't you think other teams would be interested in him? Apparently not if CF posts are any indication.

Agree with you about the Leafs not needing Severson at all. Those two Leafs games, I almost think Severson was telling the Leafs (and other playoff contenders). " Don't trade for me, I'm lousy. I'd rather be golfing at the end of regular season".

Devil fans or any other fan base don't seem make any proposals for Severson...except to the Leafs. Severson's trade value is the most right now...two playoff runs for some teams. Wait till next summer, it's only playoff run. And do you really think the Devils are going to be playoff contenders next season? I can't imagine why Severson wouldn't be on the trade block at some time.

At the end of the day this offer doesn’t make sense for Toronto. Severson would fit their system well (as much as I hate to admit it) but giving up 2 NHL defenceman and only getting 1 back does nothing but hurt them for a long playoff run. Just doesn’t suit them as an organization.

Now is Toronto calling about Severson? I highly believe so and I think a deal can get done. Something I proposed on here makes sense for both sides and could be done by the deadline;

2022 2nd round pick (becomes a 1st if Toronto wins the cup this year)
Will Villeneuve

Toronto gets:
Damon Severson
2022 4th round pick

That’s a good price to pay for Severson and makes sense from both sides. If something gets done around the idea of Amirov and a conditional pick for Severson, I wouldn’t at all be shocked.

He is a core piece.
Our longest-tenured Devil.
And someone we expect they will extend.
We honestly don’t think about it as much as you all do.

I don't think much at all about Severson, except when I read the silly trades to the Leafs. Some Leafs fans and all Devil fans seem infatuated with him.

I don't think Vancouver makes this trade. I don't think Boesers value is massive, especially with his QA but the 1st is a late round pick, I think there will be better offers.

I don’t want Holl at all. The point was that If you’re dumping a D and replacing him with a much better one at net-zero cap, that deal is way more expensive than Muzzins

1st Severson is not Muzzin. Like not in the slightest.

2nd Muzzin wasn’t a UFA.

3rd did I mention Severson is not as good as Muzzin? Definitely not in his prime anyway when Muzzin was acquired
