I don't think the Canucks would consider moving on Pettersson but the value isn't awful

I kinda like it actually. Just would be a little worried about 2024, when all of Aho, Pettersson, Teräväinen, Jarvis, Hagel, Skjei and Pesce are expiring and all of them are likely in for a raise. Skjei maybe not but all the rest of them yes.

The Hawks aren't doing that trade. Suzuki needs to improve ALOT for teams to knowingly trade for a guy with a permanent blind spot in his vision. Big risk for a guy that right now has 5 points in 13 games for the Wolves.

That's a terrible Trade....and I like the Canes too! He has a permanent blind spot in his vision. Why are teams trying to trade for him?

It's a 1st and 2nd round pick. None of the other stuff is attractive.

Good thing you aren’t the GM of the Canes then. Bit of an overypay for Hagel and a massive overpayment for Petterson. Canes weren’t going to give up Necas or Jarvis for Eichel, so why would we give them up for Petterson? You can also add Morrow to the list of not being traded. I like Petey but he isn’t worth that. Petey hasn’t been the same since his sophomore season, and until he starts putting up those numbers again, Canes really don’t want him.

Petey is great but I don’t think the difference between him and Necas is THAT much. Wouldn’t make that deal.

It's tiny. He can't see a loose pea on his dining table at a certain angle. It hasn't affected his playmaking or his development.

I'd give up 2 of Morrow/Necas/KK in a Pettersen deal, but all three seems kinda rough.

I'm not even saying you're wrong. But it's there and he isn't really playing well. Until he starts playing well on the ice it's always going to be a reason NOT to do a trade. He needs to overcome it before he has any kind of real trade value.

He's playing very well? He's not producing, but that's not the same. The entire Wolves team has been fantastic.

He's played in 14 games and CAR has a very deep farm system. If you wanted to say he' just doesn't have his feet under him yet...ok, but the Wolves have lots of A.) veterans to help develop the B.) many 1st round picks in Chicago. Don't get me wrong. I love how CAR has built the Wolves and previously the Checkers, but here we are again talking about another Suzuki Injury. That doesn't mean he can't be a good player, but when you're evaluating "trade value" he doesn't have much. As of this past weekend, he's an AHL #3C with a pretty serious injury history that was picked #28 OA...so magic bean territory aka very far from a lock. I hope and wish him the best, but he doesn't have much trade value at all. He needs to go prove things on the ice. Starting with finishing the season without another injury. Then next season let's see him get to a full PPG player for a full season. Then we can talk about his trade value.

1) Suzuki is the only 1st round pick in Chicago.

2) Suzuki is the 2C, Drury the 3C.

3) He's playing fantastic hockey, his numbers aren't there. But the base to his play is right there. He's developing nicely, and the fact you're using the purely numerical representation of what Suzuki has developed towards is proving my point. He's as close as it's coming to being a lock with the Wolves right now. No prospect is sure fire, but he's still DAMN good.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I don't have him that high. I don't think he's playing as well as you're suggesting.

You don't need to follow all the history, but that's kinda the point. Suzuki has a Permanent Blind Spot in his eye from an injury in juniors and injured again this year. Other teams aren't lining up (or providing serious trade value) for a guy with some pretty serious injuries at 20 years old and he hasn't yet proven his abilities in the AHL. He needs to A.) finish the season injury free and then B.) go next season and produce at a PPG pace. Even PPG players in the AHL don't make it to the NHL.

I strongly disagree, he's been very good. Judging by the fact you didn't know he's the only 1st rounder in Chicago, I'm questioning your knowledge of the Canes system.

He's not though. Where was Noesen drafted? #21. Where was Bokk drafted? #25. The fact that you don't know the Wolves team makes me know that you don't know the Canes farm system at all.

The Canes have a great farm system. Pytor Kocketkov is extremely underrated and he was drafted just outside the 1st round at #36.

Noesen is also 1110 years old and was drafted when Kovalchuk was a Thrasher.

Bokk, sure... but he's an AHLer... he's nothing more than that. He holds no value. He IS what you're trying to make Suzuki out to be.

Kochetkov was also drafted as an older ager, and is not even the best goalie prospect in Chicago.
