Devils take that in a heartbeat. Feel like you’re lowballing Boeser’s value a bit

That's too little for Boeser.

Why do you feel he's going to be moved? All we've heard recently is that Boeser wants to stay.

That is almost the exact package I have been thinking would be going to Vancouver (for Boeser or Garland and Poolman or similar)

1. Zacha’s name has been in rumor mill between the two clubs, and came out right after Garland and Devils were first connected.

2. Walsh is a analytics darling with his possession numbers and when I first heard Canucks had hired Rachel Doerrie, who knew our AHLers well, I had a sense then that she would be taking Walsh or Zetterlund with her (not that she can just do that, but you get my point).

3. They Devils have often used their 2nd rounders to acquire veterans and this years first would be too high.

Just a hunch. I really hope Walsh does not go. But I am guessing this would be the package from New Jersey.

It's probably very close, maybe another 2nd? I like BB and personally would keep him over Garland and/or Miller as I still think he has much more to give.

Maybe there would be another player? Subban? If Vancouver is still alive, maybe they would want him?. Vesey is our only other rental.

I think the trade proposal is very close, if there is an extra piece it would be something long term like another lesser pick or B type prospect, but a pending UFA makes little sense. Its not like NJ needs the cap or roster space either.

That makes sense. I hope we don't trade him unless its a can't miss deal. I would need a top RHD prospect, top C prospect or a top-10 pick.

Not bad, although didn't Burky say they don't want to trade any more high draft picks?

The return will most likely be affected by what his contract next season will look like. If Vancouver allows teams to negotiate with his agent prior to pulling the trigger on a deal, then they might be willing to give up more if they can sign him to a longer term, lower AAV contract.

If not, and they're beholden to his qualifying offer, then he's likely not going to get much of a return, as he can just take the one year at $7.5M and become a UFA next summer and there's absolutely nothing the team that acquires him can do about it.

I don't see any reason why the Canucks wouldn't let interested teams ballpark where Boeser is in terms of his next contract before acquiring him. By not doing that all your doing is worsening his value in a trade.

It would need to be more than ballparking. They'd need to have the paperwork drawn up and Boeser with pen in hand before a team would be willing to give up more than rental prices.
