The best you'd do is William Wallinder who'll be a top 4 pairing LD/RD. Rentals don't bring in bluechip prospects.</div></div>
First of all those are not all "bluechip" prospects. Realistically Horvat will cost more than a few young bottom 6 pieces and a second, even as a rental. Detroit is not interested in a rental, so it's pretty much a given that Bo will resign if the trade is made. Detroit has the pieces to get this done and Horvat is a perfect fit. I believe this is the most likely destination and have since the summer.....let's see if that's true.

I will wager Bo resigns where he is traded. I doubt he hits free agency.....

Canucks are looking for at least one high end young player back in a Horvat deal. One of Berggren, Lucas, Edvinsson and Kasper or the 2023 1st and then some of the lesser players. Not this.....

More realistic
Assuming the Canucks are accepting a third for Schenn, do you really think they are taking back 4 M in cap for a 5th? Not realistic at all..........

Wright the ship 2023-2024 edition
I don’t see either team (Van/Sea) doing that trade. Wright certainly has some red flags and failed to even dominate at the WJC. This does not scream an elite player. Bo is proven and should bring back more value than that….

Most Canuck fans know this. Given the poor handling of the BB situation, I would not be shocked if some of the core wanted out too. A rebuild is almost certainly inevitable but it doesn’t appear that Rutherford will accept that fact.

Horvat Trade St James version
Neither are particularly high end. Ras, a good D prospect and a first would be acceptable IMO. Rutherford is currently suffering delusions in his current ask. I guess we will see.

Rutherford wants to contend in 2-3 years. Unless the plan is to have Tocchet run OEL out of town, a buyout is the only other way he leaves. No one is trading for him.

It would secure Vancouvers long term cap issues and would be a better return for Bo aswell.
If that was the arranged trade I'd say the take it, but as is I don't think it helps them.</div></div>
Copp won’t waive for the sh@@ show in Vancouver.

Not even a step towards Petey, never mind a run at him. Detroit is NOT going to add OEL and VAN is not using Petey to dump OEL.

Horvat rumors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Sorry but those aren't the only teams he's linked to, Also Colorado and Detroit and both can easily beat those offers,
Carolina has pretty much already bowed out of the Bo Horvat sweepstakes, And Allvin wants Necas as a piece.
And what part of Boston not being able to afford Bo Horvat long term don't people understand? Pastrnak wants $12,000,000 and Horvat between $8,000,000 to $9,000,000 per plus Boston has to pay the $4,500,000 performance Bonus to both Bergeron and Krejci. Without moving out some expensive pieces it's not happening.</div></div>
And yet the reports from multiple sources keep pouring in. Boston management must have a plan you are unaware of.....

Acceptable basis for vancouver trade - READ DESCRIPTION
A Boeser trade probably involves Fabbro and maybe some short term cap balancing, but a Horvat trade almost certainly involves a first and a prospect at minimum. The fact that Nashville is reportedly "in" on Horvat means they are OK with that.

Yikes........Vancouver is getting absolutely HOSED here!! That is an awful lot to pay for a second round pick. Garland is better than Pulu, Schenn is better than Ceci, I'd rather have Lockwood over the other stiff.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juiceman</b></div><div>If we take a look at some examples from last year, Jeremy Lauzon got a second round pick, Kulak got a second +
Luke Schenn is likely worth more than those. Canucks also got a third round pick for 3 million dollar Hamonic who was supposedly going to be a cap dump. I can't see Schenn being worth less than that</div></div>
Canucks are probably looking primarily for 2023 draft picks in any trade and will do better elsewhere. The extra players are unnecessary and don't impact the value at all.

Sevo To Nucks
That's a BRUTAL return for a 2C, never mind the picks LOL. C's that win faceoffs and provide offense are as coveted as RD because they so rarely gets traded or hit free agency. Acquiring a RD heading to UFA status as the centerpiece of a Horvat trade is a mistake I highly doubt Alvin makes.

Realistic Fix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>The Sens and Leafs trade make sense for Vancouver perhaps but not really for the other team.
Claesson4Norris already mentioned the contract aspect and that OTT is a team that needs help on the right side. Ottawa shouldn't be acquiring an expensive replacement for Norris, since they have internal options already.
The Leafs won't trade Kerfoot for a back up goalie/depth goaltending or an AHL D-man who isn't ready to step in if need be.
Edmonton probably declines as well, as they don't need cap space at this time and they would be selling low on JP. Not sure, where JP would play in Vancouver, if they are trading and replacing Horvat with someone else.</div></div>
Edmonton has reportedly had Pulu on the market for exactly that return and there have been no takers. I suspect Vancouver doesn't look at him as a solution either. The Toronto trade doesn't work for Vancouver either, as a potential one year rental is not what they should be looking at for even a third round pick.

Realistic Fix
Ottawa just cannot move Zub. In a rebuild move these teams might match up, but Ottawa can't afford to give Vancouver pieces to help them right now. I could see a much bigger trade such as Horvat/Stillman/Schenn for JBD/Kastelic/Zaitsev/ Branstrom and a high pick. Dumping Zaitsev solves a big problem for them and all three adds help them now.

Likeliest Horvat Destinations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alwaysnextyear</b></div><div>As a pure rental there are lots of teams that would be interested. But VAN should maximize value by trying to deal him to a team that would want an extension in place. CBJ is a good fit for that, maybe WSH.</div></div>
Detroit also fits as a destination for Horvat long term. Not only do they desperately need a C with his profile, but the wings are "his" team growing up, so he would be going home. Yzerman has the pieces and picks to do this and it may just be the right time in their rebuild for a move like this.
