Well.. this is probably the closest trade including Schneider. I’m not sure what drury will do but this is far more reasonable then some of the others I’ve seen. If he can’t make smaller adds work I could see him making this splash and I’d cringe till they won the cup

When did Canucks say they were doing a complete rebuild?

Basically I see this as the deal if Drury decides to give in and include Schneider. Obviously no guarantee that happens but if he doesn't like the other targets come deadline day and Miller is still there and he wants to make a move to give his team a chance then I see this as the deal that gets it done for Van

It’s kinda funny you think this is a rebuild when most of the players you are acquiring are on NHL rosters this year and another one will be there next year

They didn't but they said they're looking for players in the 20-23yr old range which every player in these deals fit.

Benning did the same thing when he first started. Careful what you ask for.

Juolevi also played in the NHL and so did Jake Virtanen but the certainly would not improve a team.

The Devils trade is highway robbery by Vancouver. The Sens trade I wouldn’t do as a Sens fan. And I don’t think Rangers are trading Schneider

I disagree on the devil's trade. While I could see them disagreeing I wouldn't call it highway robbery. Zacha + 1st for garland is pretty fair, McLeod is a 3/4C and Myers is a top 4 dman (though overpaid and much older he still makes njd better over the next 2years). Again though I can totally see them not being interested in the salary and age difference so maybe replace McLeod with Johnsson.

I don't think Rangers are trading Schneider either but that's why I called this the ideal offseason. If NYR buckles and decides to move Schneider this is the deal that I think gets it done for Van.

I think at the end of the day Miller will still be a Canuck and so will Boeser. As fun as all the chat on here it is only chat and very unlikely to happen.

I think come the deadline that is totally possible but come the start of next season I'd be surprised if they're both still there.

Lundkvist is a small RH Dman that has yet to put up numbers, no thanks. Kravstov is a disgruntled prospect that has done nothing , no thanks. He reminds me of Josh Ho Sang. That deal will not happen .

So you believe JR when he says he wants to get younger but you don't believe him when he says he doesn't have to move his big name players. Sounding like you are picking and chosing what to believe.

I'm not trying to be combative with here so drop the attitude.

I don't actually believe he will move 2 or 3 of his big name players but I do think he will move at least one of them. He can create capspace in other ways but he can't create assets without either trading a big name or just waiting it out for a few years. I think they will try to keep Miller but if it's even questionable whether or not he will re-sign this summer then I think they move him. I actually don't expect anyone big to get moved at the deadline unless they get an overpay.

Garland and Zacha are putting up similar numbers. Garland has more value than Zacha but 2023 first is too much
McLeod for Myers swap is also bad for the Devils. McLeod is useful on special teams and faceoffs. Myers would be a bottom pairing defensemen for the Devils
