Description
Change is needed but i wouldnt move Petry if for no other reason then it would cost us and moving him without profiting isnt worth it. We know he'll rebound as his off year isnt isolated as literally no one is having a great year in MTL

I suggest selling off to ensure a tank this year but build to make the playoffs next year
Keep key Veteran leaders but sell off pending UFA's as they come up dont renew Vet's in general

Name Richardson Associate Coach and make Shea Weber our Defensive Coach
Give the "C" to Gallagher with Petry & Byron his "A" still

This should be enough to focus on building a winning culture even if Wins dont come instantly

MTL drafts #2 OA MTL drafts Savoie
Leaves him in WHL to Season like they did Suzuki in hopes of a Memorial Cup Run

Yeah, highly doubt Drouin draws that. There is still an uncertainty as to which Drouin you might get, so I doubt Drouin draws a first rounder, even with retention. I also don’t think the Avs would waste a first rounder on someone they wouldn’t even resign. STL doesn’t have the cap to make that move. Strome has finally started to get his feet under him in the NHL, but I think that might be a little much for him. With how he has been playing so far this season, I might say he draws a first, but is not guaranteed to do so. Mind you, the players going Chicagos way, I don’t think they would have much interest in, so I don’t think Chicago makes that move. The Allen trade is fine, value seems right.

First of all, Pierre LeBrun mention today Petry has value and GMs around the league still values him high.
That CHI trade is the most brutal trade you ever did in here. Wtf is that. Last time we heard Strome value was around a 2nd RD pick or a 3rd RD pick but Hey! he did a hat trick now he is worth Lehkonen (who’s value is higher than never), Poehling who shows he is a NHLer & a 1st RD pick !!!!!!!! Bro whatttttt

Allen isn’t good enough to justify the complications his final year on his contract causes for Edmonton. Easy pass

I'm on board with getting Weber involved. We could use his leadership in any capacity. He has the respect of players and management around the league, and plenty of rapport with officiating staff.

Not so sure about Richardson. I get it's not his ball to run with, but none of our current coaching staff seem to be identifying or contributing solutions to long standing issues.

I used to be on board with Gallagher as captain, but then I was reminded that he doesn't have the best relationship with opponents or officials. Changing that would hurt his performance on the ice, and a captain needs to be able to communicate effectively with both.

Its the standard rental price for a pending UFA
Even Vermette a 3rd line Center got a 1st while his top line Center got Hanzal got a 1st ,2nd and condition 4th that could become a 2nd
TDL 100% always effects re-sale

Its the only reason Chiarot being worth a 1st round pick stopped being a joke on this site
Mainstream Media is now claiming he'll land atleast that and all my trades from last year seem practical
Last year those same posts were met with very similar comments to yours

Its not just Chiarot either its every TDL
My favorite was Plekanec return as everyone was convinced he was worth a 4th at best nothing more and i called it

There is this site
Then there is reality
I look to history when looking to make a predicition

True but Petry and Byron will just have to be more involved with Ref's
The value of Gallagher as Captain is far greater then that risk
If Petry's gone Edmundston or Savard can take on his role

I think Gally as Captain will spark him
Unlike Pacioretty who had a hard time with the stress
Gallagher seems to get better under pressure and loves the Attention like Subban did

I think it will also give Suzuki and the next Center we draft this year time to make a case for C
I still think whomever we draft this year is going to be Captain down the road as the options are all good
Lambert has the strongest leadership presence but Wright and Savoie are bonafide stars in the making

Whether its to raise Gally's Trade value with the C over the next few years
Or if its a Thornton/Brown situation they pulled off for Kopitar and Pavelski i believe it was
