I actually doubt that. Formenton isn't as good as Silfverberg when he was dealt there, and both Noesen and Brännström were first round picks very much stuck in their system.

The first round pick point I do get, but I'd argue the value is close to equal.

Well there's supposed to be a retention in there but it seems I forgot to write that. It's double retained as I said there in additional comments.

I think TOR does need a playoff hungry veteran able to play top6. And Giroux fits the bill pretty well, his playoff record is pretty good.

When the Bobby Ryan trade was made, Ottawa won a playoff round and picked 17th overall in 2013.

When this Travis Konecny trade is made, Ottawa will have finished 30th out of 32 teams and pick in the Top 5 in 2022.

Just worried that OTT has too many prospects. They simply have no room for all of them. Imo it's better to deal them for actually established assets before they start to lose value due to being stuck in your system. Brännström is the best example of that.
