Overpay for Nylander. For a 2C, that package would be insane. I'd do it if you dropped Addison, though.

I like Addison quite a bit, but in this ACGM you're using him as a 7th defenseman. Fiala has no term, and is going to cost a fortune on his next contract. Nylander is the better player, on the better contract.

IF Nylander can be a top 6 center, this is a no-brainer! If he is a wing, it’s an overpay…even with the cost certainty he comes with.

Value in a trade is not at this single moment in time Addison realistically is a Top 4 RHD in 1-2 Years. KF is probably gonna come in the 6.25/7m Range on a longer term 4-5 year deal come the summer. In my opinion small adjustments to picks and I think this works great for both teams

While you have no idea who Addison is? Nylander is great, but if he is brought to play the role Fiala already plays, it's bad asset management to throw a blue-chip prospect plus a pick away.

Nylander brought in to Play 2C, he’s played C with TOR with JT out & Played it in Junior

Niemela > Addison, Nylander > Fiala. Still turning this trade down, bad for the Leafs. Trading Nylander to fill a non-issue is a bad idea

He is a 7th D because the creator was probably lazy. It doesn't remove the fact Addison is a top50 prospect and has serious upside.

I doubt he'd be able to play 2C. And even if he was, it would be an overpay. This is like giving away 3 1st round picks, and that should almost get a 1C.

I don’t think this is a “non-issue” just asset management you are getting someone to fill the same role at aprox 80%??? The same capacity does not cripple your team by any means and you get futures back ontop to use for future rentals?

The Leafs shouldnt trade Nylander to fill a non-issue. This trade makes us worse in the now. Niemela is better than Addison, and Nylander is better than Fiala. This makes the Leafs worse in the present and hurts us in the future, as we are getting rid of a fantastic winger on a steal contract for an RHD that wont play over Liljegren and Niemela
