In my opinion, the Vancouver trade makes no sense for the Canuck's in three ways.
1. Vancouver's extremely thin at the RD position, and Myers although overpaid often plays over 20 minutes a night. Unless the team makes some big offseason moves they need Myers.
2. The team is currently not competitive and their prospect cupboards are bare, so it makes little sense for them to give up what will likely be a top 10-15 pick in what's supposed to be a strong draft.
3. Even if the team's prospect cupboards weren't bare, I think the cost of a 1st is to high. Myers could probably be flapped with little to no asset's going with him. The return wouldn't be high but big physical offensive RD are hard to come by, even if they have some faults.
