Hard pass from Detroit, don't want Engvall or Dermott for free, let alone giving up a useful middle 6 forward.

I don't think anybody is interested in these spare parts. Teams will trade players when they get something they want in return. I can't see any of these teams wanting what the Leafs are offering in these deals.

You realize Chairot is likely getting the Habs a 1st this trade deadline, don't think Holl gets that return

you realise that Chariot is worse than Holl and adding a decent middle six winger only makes the trade more lopsided for the Habs and that the leafs could get a much better return than Chariot if they traded both of them?

You say that like you're in a front office lol

Listen, it's pretty simple, Chairot is a big dman who can play 20 mins a night on a contender and help for the playoffs. Holl isn't seen as that guy and likely would only fetch a 2nd on the trade market, Micky is likely around the same. It's not a knock against them but I can guarantee that contenders looking to go on a run would take Chairot over Holl because he is the type of dman they look for to go into the playoffs with. Is it a good strategy? Eh but is it what we see every single year? Ya

I dont care what Chariot would get from other teams, if another gm wants to be dumb and over pay for a slow defender who cant defend, bleeds shots and high danger chances and has zero offensive abilities that's on them. Hell, I'd love Edmonton or whatever to make that **** move, it would be hilarious.
My entire point is that in actual practice this makes the leafs a worse team and if they were to trade Holl and Mikheyev independently for market value that return would be better for the leafs than Chariot would be.

Haha good one. Chiarot easily has more value on the market then the two of them combined.

So i think dermott makes some sense for Detroit. We have no ld next season but engval is a no. A 3rd and dermott maybe. Dont see Montreal or seattle doing those deals.

haha good one, the leafs could get a not terrible defender who would make them worse for one of them let alone two of them combined. Chariot is bad and whoever trades anything more than a 4th for him is going to regret it hilariously.

"Fabbri and Bortuzzo"

Doesnt trade for Bortuzzo

Also that value is WAY off for Fabbri. Detroit isnt selling and have no reason to trade a legit top 6 forward for two depth pieces, let alone to a divisional rival

Seattle has no motivation to take Ritchie.
I wouldn't trade Holl for Chariot, straight up, and especially since Holl is a real bargain at 2m next season.
Detroit might get more for Fabrri at TDL.
But it's another bunch of craziness. Leafs may not be cap compliant, and absolute crazy trading two NHL Dmen for one,.

Well Fabbri is a UFA next summer, so Wings might be best to sell him this season. Division rival? Looks like the the Wings are out of the playoffs (if they trade Fabbri) so the division or even conference rival really doesn't mean anything this season.

My thoughts are that all these players are on expiring deals. So we are talking about rentals.

Chiarot - Even the hockey writer's say hope for a 1st but expect a 3rd. We are talking about a 30 year old, stay-at-home UFA Dman lacking foot speed. Martinez and Scandella didn't even net firsts. He would be supplementary for any contending team, but I do think a deal with picks on another team would be more likely.

Fabbri - I think Fabbri for Dermott with a sweetener makes sense, sure, I probably chose the wrong one but your getting a young NHL caliber Dman to help on the left side. maybe a mid level prop[ect or pick makes more sense

Johansson - is a fourth liner in his 30's also a UFA... he would be worth next to nothing as it is but if ya take Ritchie's deal they get a serviceable fourth liner next year and TO would have to sweeten it a bit, he may not score but its only 2.5 million for a year, if you get something for nothing its not like we are talking about a $6 million dollar contract

They feel like hockey trades more likely for the offseason then the TDL but I feel the value is there, just maybe not exactly what each team is looking/hoping for.

You got me here lol, changed to Chiarot as I could make the money work forgot to update the title. Again, rental. trade him and resign him in the offseason if you think he wants to resign in Detroit. The divisional rival makes sense but you are not meeting TO in the playoffs this year, lets be honest. Boston, Tampa, Florida, Toronto. I can't see Detroit out pacing these teams this season.

Agree with you. Don't how Hab fans think so many of their players are worth 1st rounders at TDL and Leafs players are worthless.
Absolute silliness to trade any of the Leafs Dmen without a significant upgrade.

I can agree with this in theory. But they both have a year left after this one and Toronto needs to resign Campbell so there is some value in moving them for an equivalent quality defender who comes off the books at the end of the season. May allow them to keep Kerfoot.
