Don't want or need Poolman, and we're not giving up Addison.

One of Khusnutdinov, Beckman, or Hunt are the likely prospect that would be included.

To get rid of Kane? Yeah, you are. Cause it'll take something like that to do it.

If it was offered I think the Canucks should take that NYI trade in a heartbeat. The other trades im not convinced of.

The Canucks apparently already have issues in their dressing room, the last thing they need to do right now is add a person (not player) like Kane into that mix.

As for the MIN trade, I don't mind Fiala but he's not the type of player I would personally target in a Miller trade. Personally I would want 23 or younger and prefer a C or RD as the main piece coming back.

Like it though I don't think van would get a 2nd back from NY in that deal right now. I think Pearson for.Kane could happen straight up with kane 50% retained. No draft picks. I like the Minny deal too. They need young guys on the right side. That said, 100% Fiala walks to free agency so they would need to flip him at the deadline.

Not getting Addison.

Khusnutdinov, Beckman, or Hunt are your options. If you want a young defensive prospect, your best bet is Hunt. He may be a Lefty, but he can and does play the right side.

They can literally buy him out. Why the hell would they give up a first round pick, retain half of his contract and take on more cap? That’s just poor asset management and use of the cap.

I guarantee you, you aren't getting a calen addison, or Marat k for jt Miller. Some are overvaluing JT Miller like he's Eichel, and that Fiala is no good

In the case of Khusnutdinov, I'd agree. Simply from a we need centers standpoint. So yeah, we're highly unlikely to put him on the table.

Beckman though? For a PPG player who can play center, and comes with an affordable contract for the remainder of this year... plus next year too?

Yeah, he very damn well should be on the table. You have to give to get, and the trinity of Rossi, Boldy, and Addison aren't going be discussed beyond a hard firm no from Guerin.

Miller gives Rossi the time he needs to not only make it to the NHL next year without rushing him, but also would take the pressure off him from trying to be the 1C right away. We are on top of the Central right now, and are looking to make a push this year, to that end we need to get deeper down the middle. Beckman is a hell of a prospect and I really like the kid, but Wingers can always be drafted or traded for. Furthermore, Beckman is also highly blocked by Pitlick being on the roster. And Pitlick is heavily looking like a steal of a waiver wire pickup and is a definite keeper.

I don't think Guerin is in as much of a hurry to trade for a top six center as some of you fans on here wish he was. Beckman made a massive impact on management and coaching in the pre-season, and he'll be a part of the offense for the better part of a decade. Don't see Guerin giving that up for 1.5 years. And rightfully so.

Except for the fact that Guerin has, in fact, been looking for one.

Since last year.

He was heavily in the Eichel sweepstakes until Adams wanted him to overpay. He bowed out after that.

It was widely reported and confirmed from multiple credible sources that he's been calling Vancouver about Miller. That's not sitting idle on the subject by any means. So, even if nothing comes from it, it's not really stopping him from looking. Because at the end of the day, and the bottom line is, he's still making those calls.

Beckman's future with the team is far less clear cut then you make it out to be. Pitlick does everything Beckman does, and more. Pitlick is a 24 year old RFA who already fits in with the current younger age group of players, is a NHL player now, and is going to be a very cheap option to bridge through the dead cap years.

Simply put, Pitlick is already taking and blocking Beckman's future spot on the roster. There's not a spot for Beckman on the team moving forward. Beckman's impact, is nothing if he's not on the team anyway.

He can look without being in a hurry. he can inquire without wanting to pay the price.

Pitlick taking Beckman's spot? I'm laughing hysterically. Come on man.

We can agree to disagree to disagree if you want. I think you'll find that Miller won't be on this team any time soon.

Pitlick has had equal to or better production numbers than Beckman throughout their playing careers aside from Beckman's, one, scoring title year. Beckman has the better shot, but Pitlick is the better skater with higher-end speed and hands.

Both have top six upside, but only one is currently showing it right now in the NHL. Impact during the pre-season against AHL'ers means nothing. Pitlick was the winger of choice to get put onto the top line with Kaprizov and Hartman today and played like he belonged and didn't look out of place on that line.

So, no. I'm not laughing.

Pitlick is four years older than Beckman. When he was Beckman's age he was a sophomore at Minnesota putting up mediocre numbers. Pitlick was 23-24 before he was playing in the AHL at the level Beckman is playing at now at 20.

You're obviously entitled to your own opinions, but I'm no longer interested in this conversation if you think Pitlick makes Beckman expendable. I can't take that seriously.

Yeah, you're entitled to your opinions too. But I can't take it seriously either if you think Beckman is untouchable in a trade that would clearly make the team better for the playoffs, this year. Which is where we're headed. We can't count on draft luck to save us this time. But these next two drafts are more than deep enough, and our amateur scouting department more than up to the task find us a replacement, if that's what we need. Which I don't.

Have a good night.
