I don't think Guerin is in as much of a hurry to trade for a top six center as some of you fans on here wish he was. Beckman made a massive impact on management and coaching in the pre-season, and he'll be a part of the offense for the better part of a decade. Don't see Guerin giving that up for 1.5 years. And rightfully so.
Except for the fact that Guerin has, in fact, been looking for one.
Since last year.
He was heavily in the Eichel sweepstakes until Adams wanted him to overpay. He bowed out after that.
It was widely reported and confirmed from multiple credible sources that he's been calling Vancouver about Miller. That's not sitting idle on the subject by any means. So, even if nothing comes from it, it's not really stopping him from looking. Because at the end of the day, and the bottom line is, he's
still making those calls.
Beckman's future with the team is far less clear cut then you make it out to be. Pitlick does everything Beckman does,
and more. Pitlick is a 24 year old RFA who already fits in with the current younger age group of players, is a NHL player
now, and is going to be a very cheap option to bridge through the dead cap years.
Simply put, Pitlick is already taking and blocking Beckman's future spot on the roster. There's not a spot for Beckman on the team moving forward. Beckman's
impact, is nothing if he's not on the team anyway.
