I think there would have to be picks involved from Ottawa. Not a knock on Brannstrom but other than a strong half year last season he hasn't really done much to prove being an NHL player, while Toffoli has.

He was acquired for a 2nd round pick and a meh prospect. Brannstrom is more valuable than either of those. I know he's coming off a solid year but he hasn't had the best start. You would get a late 1st at the deadline but I can't imagine anyone paying up at this point in the year. Maybe Brann + 2nd?

He was a deadline rental coming off a lackluster year and was expected to get a fairly significant payday as a UFA. He has since signed a very team-friendly contract before putting up career numbers, and still has 2+ years remaining on his deal. I don't think it's fair to use his previous trade as a comparable.

I would entertain this idea for Brannstrom and a 2nd, of which Sens have a couple.

I would say thou that Toffolis foot speed and age don't make this the best deal Ottawa could do if they move on Branstrom, however, at least people are finally suggesting moving in a Right Shot Player that has the hands to keep up with Stuzle.
