Tbf, the problem with Eichel is his health uncertainty. If BG shells out assets for a guy who might never play again, then you've essentially lit fire on your franchise by losing all the assets you gave up and being stuck with 10mil for 5 more seasons. That hurts financially even if you can stick him on LTIR for cap relief purposes.

A better idea IMO for MINN would be to offer-sheet Elias Pettersson.

Respectfully, both trades are terrible. Fiala won't get Lundell straight up imo. Lundell is on an ELC and we'll see what Fiala gets paid. No interest in 2 1sts Marat and a 3rd (or 1st) for Eichel who is injured.

Eichel’s injury isn’t close to career threatening. The hold up is which type of surgery. So unless the Dr slips and cuts his spin, he’ll be just fine. There was a chance the issue could have fixed itself with relaxation. Trying to keep hyperbole to the minimum here.

Fun fact: Guerin did not screw our cap with the buyouts. Chuck Fletcher did when he signed those deals. I'm gonna quote Michael Russo:
