I think the Eichel deal heavily favors the Wild, but I just don't see BG parting with Rossi or Boldy... even for Eichel. I can understand Buffalo wanting futures and even those prospects but my guess is they will only offer picks to make it happen. Not sure if Kev will budge on that.

How to fix Guerins stupid moves as best a possible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IconicHawk</b></div><div>When Dean is nominated for the Jack Adams…..</div></div>
It made me laugh too. He made so many clueless moves, like having Parise play with guys who never shot and then ****ing about his output. It's how he scores 95% of his goals (deflections & rebound goals). It would be like putting Dumba behind the net and complaining his slapshot isn't scoring any goals. Complete misuse of Parise and we'll see his stats returned when used correctly at his next team. Dean is a full blown idiot and his clown show will be revealed when we are back taking on the Central Division and this team misses the playoffs by a mile.

Guerin has made a lot of stupid moves this off-season, but that isn't one of them. He has "his guys" and they seem to be untouchable. Addison fits in that group.

There is no chance Kirill is being traded to anyone. He is in Minny at least 3 more years (and hopefully longer). There are few players or packages in the league that get him away from us!

It's a fair question, I think it comes down to consistency and trade value. Fiala isn't consistent, but his trade value it solid so you move him out to get Eichel. That was my thought anyway. And Hyman is of the same cloth as the GREEF line, which was one of the hardest to play against. Adding more players like that wear down those big teams like Vegas.

Any plan with a BO of Parise is foolish, especially in this Cap Environment for the next 2-3 years. You can't afford to have that much dead cap space and be competitive. If the idiot coach would use 11 correctly, then his production would go up. He has made his entire career around the net, rebounds & garbage goals. Pairing him with guys who get ONE shot per game gives him 2 chances to score the types of goals he has historically got & been successful at.
In addition, Menell will never be back if Russo has read GMBG correctly. I am also curious what your Expansion Protection list would be with this line-up?
Lots of holes in this plan IMO

The Wild have ZERO interest in Staal. He was traded away for a reason and he won't be welcomed back even if we need a Center. It wasn't probably anything he personally did, but BG changed the locker room and him leaving was part of that change. He got rid of most of the vets he could that were "in charge" of that locker room... and would have moved 11 and 20 if he could.

Wild pass, even if they weren't making a playoff run. Greenway and Foligno are part of their future. They aren't going to trade that away for a late round 1st, a 2nd next year and another 3rd line center that we already have three of (Sturm, Bonino, and Hartman currently... who's better than Kerfoot IMO).

Wild Bill deals with the All-in Teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Morzski</b></div><div>21/22 Wild with Rossi, Addison and Dewar on roster and Greenway to Seattle gets 23 million in space. Wild would need to fill 5 roster spots, 8m x 8 to Kap, 5m x 5 to EEK, 2.5m x 3 to Hartman, 7.5m remaining. Fiala is a bit of a Wild card imo, he's not playing like he should get a 6m x 5 contract right now so maybe a 4.5-5m x 3? Either way 7.5m to sign him and a few fillers on the team doesn't equal WIld "need that 6m in cap space."
I agree that BG would be wise to move Dumba only with a good package coming back, Dumba is playing really well this year. It's not as dire as you make it out to be.
Seattle takes Greenway, Foligno, Hartman, Rask, Sturm, Soucy, Menell or Talbot ..... oh well Seattle will take someone.</div></div>
I think you need to work on your math a bit. If we use those values that you listed (which I am ok with but don't think Eek gets more than 4-4.5)... you are left with 1m and 6 roster spots to fill. Who's filling in the spots for Greenway, Bjugstad, Bonino, MarJo, Cole and Hunt? Even "fillers" at 1m a piece is 6m. The Wild are in a tight cap situation with all those players playing well. So it is as desperate as I am making it out to be for moving Dumba's 6m. I will say we agree on Fiala, he isn't playing like a 7m player... more like a 5.5-6m player so that one will be tricky.

Wild Bill deals with the All-in Teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_Habs_fan</b></div><div>Well Eek, and Fiale get protected, if Parise waives greenway too, but Dumba is absolutely more valuable than Foligno and imo as valuable if not more then Greenway</div></div>
Parise isn't going to waive, especially after how the coach has been treating him. He might wave to be traded, but would have no interest in being shipped out to Seattle and there is a chance (small, but still a chance) that Seattle would grab him to reach the salary cap floor and add a veteran winger who could also Capitan a team. And, you are missing the important part which is we need his 6m in cap space and we have a replacement in Addison.
Best case scenario for the Wild is move Dumba, protect 7-3-1 and get Suter to waive his NMC. They protect:
Parise, Zuc, Fiala, Eek, Greenway, Foligno and Hartman (unless they get back a FWD in the Dumba deal)
Spurg, Brodin, and either Soucy or Mennel

Eichel and value on other players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SalamiCheese</b></div><div>I like Boldy better. Adams did not take Rossi in the draft, but preferred Quinn because of his qualities, Boldy in this regard is also similar to this choice, only he is a LW. Then we would probably pick Beniers in the draft, and next season we would go after Wright or Lambert.
I disagree, Eichel is too good, young and has a long-term contract, he is an elite 1C, such are rarely traded. PLD return Laine + Roslovic. Eichel > PLD and we can get salary back.</div></div>
And like PLD, once his NMC kicks in next year he will force his way out and you'll get less than you could now. Buffalo's best chance for a good return is before he demands out which WILL happen.

The later BG waits to make a decision the lower the value goes. I think Dumba is worth a 1st and a 3rd... or a 1st and a prospect. I don't like Beecher at all, and really if you read Scott Wheelers take on the Boston prospect pool it is like 29th with no really great prospects. (wasn't high on Beecher either). Protecting only 8 really exposes guys and we need to move Dumba's cap space anyways if we plan on signing everyone.
22m - 8ish to Kaprizov, 6-7m for Fiala, 3 for Eek, possibly another 3 to Hartman who's been a beast... and you still have to fill holes for MarJo, Bonino, Bjugstad, Cole and Hunt. We need that 6m in cap space.

Wild want zero part of Staal.... even for an injured MarJo. BG cleared out the locker room for a reason (Mikko, Staal, Dubnyk) and he almost moved Parise. He would probably move both 11 and 20 if he could. Staal seems like a great guy, had some good years here but they are done.

Eichel and value on other players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SalamiCheese</b></div><div>Perhaps, but it seems to be true. Such players are rarely traded, but it was before the season, so I wrote that the price might be slightly less, but hardly much less. This package just doesn't even come close. I'm sure Adams would have asked Boldy instead of Rossi, because that is the type of player he would be looking for. And Dumba definitely shouldn't have been in the deal.</div></div>
I think Buffalo fans in general are going to expect way more than they ultimately will get for Eichel WHEN he is traded. A few weeks back I suggested a Wild trade of both 1st's this year, Fiala and Khovanov and was yelled at by a Buffalo fan saying we needed to include Kaprizov. As I told him, I wouldn't trade Kaprizov straight up for Eichel as he look like he could be that good (and with a better attitude).
I'd love to see him come to the Wild, and I do think GMBG planted some seeds with Adam's on that Staal trade which was one sided... but I am not sure it will get done given success of the Wild this year and the cap room needed to make that happen. If the Wild could move Dumba somewhere else, then they'd have the cap space to take Eichel on. I guess we'll see where Jack ends up and for how much in the near future.

I'm sure lou likes Parise, but bellows has been playing very well and he's much younger and cheaper than Parise. Lou is big on chemistry and he's not breaking up the 1st line right now. The Parise deal is dead unless the wild want to retain 50% salary and take back ladd.</div></div>
That's fair that you think the deal is dead, but your Ladd + retain 50% is laughable.... Ladd is worthless and wouldn't even see our lineup... so it's dead money. You may not like Parise but he has a hell of a lot more value than your proposal.

But they don't need Dumba as Addison would be his replacement next year (or even this year). The Wild need to protect 7 forwards to keep guys like Eek, Greenway and Foligno who are having career years. They also will need Dumba's 6m in cap space during this flat cap to sign guys and add real talent to go with Kaprizov.

It is most likely a late 1st and 3rd, but with BG signing Brodin and waiting until now... other teams know they have him over a barrel with the expansion draft. With guys like Eek, Greenway and Foligno having career years, he is going to want to protect 7 forwards and the only way to do that is to trade Dumba or figure out someway to convince Suter to wave his NMC (which is about the same percentage of the Wild winning the cup LAST year... zero). Besides, the 2022 draft is deeper and continues to give assets to Judd to add prospects.

Parise has been buried in the line-up with 4th liners (for debatable reasons). Lou likes his guys and Parise still has the hustle. His game is based on guys shooting it on net and him deflecting or putting in the rebound. When you are on a line without guys who actually shoot it on the net (4th liners), it's hard to get tips and rebounds. This also helps add a top 6 forward to help fill in for the absence of Lee.

Absolutely zero chance the Wild do that trade. For one, Dumba isn't being moved for less than a 1st and a top prospect (as it should be for a very good Right Shot Dman), let alone give up our 1st rounder in 2022. Maybe if MTL gave the Wild their 2022 1st rounder and Poehling or Caufield for Dumba... now you are in the ballpark.

Nope. Eichel is a franchise center, but Kaprizov has a chance to be a Top 5-10 player in the league once they put some talent around him. And for Eichel, they put talent around him and it is failing miserably. It makes you wonder how much of a leader he is when they have sunk to the level that they have this year. Trust me, I'd love Eichel on my team but as many of the NHL experts have said, the price continues to come down by the day and Eichel/Buffalo aren't making it any easier for themselves.
