Chabot is very good I agree. But he’s more of an offensive Dman who’s okay defensively. But Sanderson will be eating all the tough minutes, will play everywhere too. He’s the guy you’d roll out against other teams top lines as well as start transition play.

Not signed yet. Probably in college, given the amount of LDs currently in Ottawa. They wouldn't have brought in Del Zotto and Holden if Sanderson was coming this year.

Another year. I Think he joins the team after the upcoming season. He’s pretty much nhl ready right now . He also has been playing both sides LD and RD so that’s very interesting. Wonder if he becomes Chabots partner

I could see that being a nasty pairing. They’d prolly play upwards of 24-25 minutes a night together and be pretty dominant imo.

I personally feel like the handedness is sometimes blown out of proportion. If one of them is comfortable on the right side, I don’t see anything wrong with pairing them together. But that’s just my opinion.

I've heard both BUF and OTT fans complaining about the value in that trade so it seems more or less fair to me at this point. Mete doesn't really have trade value, he was just dumped to waivers.

Even if they had the same value, I’d take the RD over the winger. I think JBD will be a top 4D and Peterka a middle 6 winger

I trust Ottawa scouts. They scouted Stutzle a lot, they could’ve taken him at 28 and 32 and didn’t with either pick. They probably don’t see him as a top 6F.

At the time, we already moved out Duchene and Dzingel when he was in his prime.

We were planning to move out Pageau by the trade deadline of the following year and there were growing concerns that Logan Brown was turning into a bust.

We also traded Stone for Brannstrom.

With Chabot and Brannstrom now in our back pocket at the time as our two main LDs, the odds that we would have drafted Byram had to have dropped significantly.

All signs would have pointed to drafting a centreman like Turcotte at 4th overall in 2019.



This trade between Ottawa and Buffalo might be fair.

But if the trade is not in your interests, you don't go ahead of it, regardless of how fair it is.

Mete might not have any trade value but we did claim him off waivers and he played decently for us down the stretch.

No reason to move him.
