I know jack Eichels value has decreased somewhat, But that much pretty bad for buffalo.

So an excellent young center prospect in Veleno, 2 1sts, a 2nd, 2 solid defense prospects, a near-equal goalie prospect and two weeks of exclusive negotiations with another prospect goalie along with one year of Nielsen's contract for Eichel and a 7th round goalie and you're still saying no. I think you're crazy and if Detroit actually offered this to Buffalo Eichel would be a RW in about 7 seconds. And the 41 game provision protects Detroit's 24 pick.

The Lions will win a super bowl before this happens.

Quantity for quality is not a good trade strategy. Your trade partner don't like such offers.

The only assets that can be relied on to become NHL players in that offer is Veleno and Johansson and neither are sure bets to become more than a bottom-6 forward and a 3rd pair defender. Those two players + a bunch of scraps and maybes and two picks won't get you a first line centre.

1st, high end center prospect, quality young roster player. That is the base, and they need that quality young roster player to limit the bust risk of unknown pick/prospect results.

IMO Wings decline easily. They keep Nielsen for one more year. Then they have those prospects and picks plus that 10m in cap space by not having Eichel. Let's image all those picks picks and prospects don't amount to much. Having 10m to spend on UFAs just might be better than having Eichel.

Larsson last I heard wasn't amounting to much, still time to turn it around but I don't think he's that great.
Johansson and McIsaac could be nhl defensemen maybe, still nothing great as of right now.
Petruzzelli has no value as he can sign with any team in two weeks.
Veleno is looking like a third line centre, maybe middle six guy if everything pans out.
And honestly I would rather have those two lottery picks and draft guys that will be under team control for the next 8 years rather than have eichel for 4, still not be a playoff team, and then lose him as a UFA.

Also Levi for a seventh round pick, might turn out to be a stud goalie, I think that's why buffalo took him in the trade for Reinhart.

Then all the random picks are just dumb on the Detroit side.
