He isn't getting traded unless it is an Eichel level player. Nothing else is needed for Flames

Don't get why Zucker is left exposed, he's likely protected and not taken by Seattle.

You're simply not getting Tkachuk.

Ristolainen night cost a 3rd at full salary, retaining 50% might cost you a light project prospect but you've overpaid here.

McCann likely gets a NHL player back. Doubt Pittsburgh is looking for prospects and Toronto isn't looking to move Hallander - they targeted him since he was drafted and made him a priority to get in the Kapanen deal. You're not getting him back lightly

I mean exactly what i said, there is zero reason to trade our very likely next captain for anything but a true 1C (Malkin doesn't count since he's old and has no term)

Zucker is left exposed because at least 2 of Zucker, Matheson and Petterson have to go so that the Pens can be under the cap. Matheson isn't going anywhere unless the Pens pay (Hextall is not moving any high picks to get rid of him). Petterson has a slightly bloated contract, but as a top 4 D, that is still young, he has some trade value. It would be ideal to trade Zucker (without any money coming back) before expansion, but that is unlikely as his trade value seems to be very low at the moment, plus he has a 10 team no trade. So to summarize the most likely scenario is Zucker (expansion), Matheson (still a pen) and Petterson (traded).

What no one talks about with these M. Tkachuk trades is what it will cost to retain him as RFA. He is playing on a $9M salary this year which will be the base for qualifying him. I think you need to give 10% raise so his qualifying offer is nearly $10M.

I think 40 goal scorer Guentzel is a much better bargain at $6M than Tkachuk at $10M. Let the Flames over pay for his services as they set up his contract this way.

Leafs fans try to trade SDA on every ACGM I see..lol.

I think the Leafs would steal McCann(25 years old) and DeSmith for Hallander and a late 2nd.

The better bang for your buck too.

Tkuchuk is playing on a $9M salary this year which will be the base salary for qualifying him. They need to give him atleast a 10% raise so his qualifying offer is nearly $10M.

I think the 40 goal scorer Guentzel is a much better bargain at $6M than Tkachuk at $10M plus.

Plus add another 4M player to your team to reach Tkachuks salary after this season. I’ll take Guentzel and the 4M in cap space.

Flames are gonna get into cap problems if they keep paying players these salaries like Tkachuk and Markstrom.

Ya, that would be a steal for McCann. 32 points in 42 games last season. .75PPG. And 19 goals and 35 points and 14 goals and 35 points in the two previous seasons. Still just 25 years old. On a good, reasonable RFA contract. That would be a steal

4 million in cap space? lol
Tkachuk counts as 7 million against the cap right now. Just cause his qualifying offer will be 9 doesn't mean that is what he will sign for.

Regardless doesn't change the fact that Guentzel is 3 years older, gets carried by Sid, and is terrible defensively.

Sure thing!! Lol.

Guentzel defensive metrics are great and he plays physical as well. Just not physically imposing. Guentzel has more defensive block shots than Matt Tkachuk every season Tkachuk played so far. He’s a very good 200 foot, two-way player.

Just like Sid carried Sprong, C.Sheary, D.Simon and Beau Bennet. Sid has had a lot of wings. None of them have the skill and produce like Guentzel.

Lol. His metrics/analytics are actually great..lol. What r u talking about.? Or r u just making stuff up because u are wrong.

**Guentzel has an xGoals Against in the 92nd percentile. Lol.

You Say, “do some research” trying to make
it look like u did the research and u are right..lol.

When obviously u didn’t even look at any of his stats/analytics. Cause if u did, you would’ve seen Guentzel is above Matt Tkuchuk in most all advanced stats. Defensively and Offensively..lol.
