Hey Oilers would love Kerfoot, But It's better just to give up a 2nd and a 3rd for Kerfoot

Too much. Way too much. First round pick? Maybe. That’s craziness though.

It’s interdivisional so the ask from Toronto would be high and same with Boston

Right, so its probably pretty crazy to even propose it, but this isn’t an offer boston would consider. A late first is fair for him. Want to tack on a 3rd for the inter division stuff? Sure.

A late first is what Savard got with only like 15 games left in the regular season... Rielly is gonna fetch a lot more than that

It's a fair deal if there is a reasonable extension in place (6M range - I think he could get more.) The team control is a big factor.

Maybe. I kind of doubt it though. First off, deadline prices are usually high. Goodrow got a first rounder. Is the going rate for a solid bottom six winger all of a sudden a first rounder? Of course not. Tampa recognized a need, and they paid up to get a particular player. Flat cap prices in the off season will almost certainly be lower. Second, kinda think grzelcyk has more value than reilly given the contract. Third, you’re trying to trade him because you’ve seen what we’ve all seen. He just hasn’t been very good the last two seasons.

But just think about this from the bruins perspective. They get this offer what are they going to think? Right, they’re going to say, “uhh we’re trying to improve, not move laterally, you want draft picks?”

Reasonable extensions are in place in like .2% of trades. The way rielly has played he last two seasons, grzelcyk at 3.675 has more value than rielly in the 6 range.

Oilers wouldn't pay that for Kerfoot. First off, the preference is to find a right shot centre. Second, Kerfoot is a market value contract but the Leafs are looking to move on for a cheaper contract... when every team knows you're moving a guy for cap space they'll be low balling the offers. I think more likely just to get a straight 3rd without the other picks or maybe toss in a B-Level prospect.

Boston and Toronto have made one trade in the last 10 years and it was a swap of 7th rounders lol. You're not getting anything close to full or fair value for Rielly if you're trading him to Boston.

He's not. I know it's easy to hate the Leafs, but the dude is legit.

Last two years:
Grzelcyk - 105gp 9g 32a 41pts 60/40 Ozone starts
Reilly - 102gp 8g 54a 63pts 55/45 Ozone starts

Reilly plays 4m a night more. He also has averaged just shy of 60pts per 82GP over the last four seasons. Those numbers are also coming off "the way he played the last two season"

I love Grzelcyk, but take a look at his playoff numbers. EEK!!!! I know +/- isn't the greatest stat, but for the Bruins and the way they play it can be representative.
-2, -3, -5, -2 in his four playoff years. He averaged 20M night during playoffs and he started in the Ozone 60/40 the prior season he was 40/60 - hence the -5

Reilly was: -2, 0, -1, +3
Played about 7 more minutes a night on a team that appears to not really focus on stout defense.

He also has 4" and 35lbs on Grzelcyk.

Right, I’m not saying grzelcyk is a better player.

Right, so if he's better and Debrusk gave you literally nothing last year + and has been benched or sent to the 4th line the last two playoff series, This makes the team better because you would have a true top pairing LD that can play with McAvoy. +3m for Reilly is well worth the 7m a night when it counts. Grzelcyk is a good player, but he will never be one of the best LD in the game. Rielly has that potential.

This might make the team better, but it’s poor value. Trading the next 25 first round picks for rielly would make the team better too, but the value stinks.
Trading debrusk doesn’t make sense. See how he reacts after a real off season and a season that’s somewhat normal.

That is a straw man argument. They are not trading their next 25 1sts. They are trading a lesser dman and struggling forward, who at his best is still your 3rd line LW (assuming Hall resigns).
I am not talking about giving Debrusk away. I wouldn't give him away, that would be dumb.

They have depth at LW (Lauko, Ritchie, Frederic, Hughes. There are also better players available via FA if you wanted to go that route (Coleman, Hyman, Foligno) for a 3 LW.

It’s a hyperbolic argument to prove a point. Immediate value and value are not the same thing
