Mcdonaugh and miller have we Namestikov, 2 1sts, Hajek and Howden.
Murphy and Hagel are nowhere near Mcdonaugh value

Bud he’s not a star. He’ll cap out as a 50 point player because Chicago no longer has the supporting pieces. Hagel can’t drive a line so why give up prospects that can within 2 years.
Bud stop overvaluing Hagel. He’s a 50 point player at best but in great situation like Toronto can be 60-70 player. Think of him like Kyle Oposo before Buffalo.

TDL Move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainTavares</b></div><div>I try to explain that to so many people on this site...in a lot of real trades the return is less then the rumours suggest a lot of the time. If the leafs are trading Knies, Niemela, etc., recent draft picks who since drafted have proven to be top prospects, they are going to be going after top players with some term, like JT Miller, not middle of the pack players or medoicre rentals. Any teams top prospects for that matter, not just the leafs.
The rumours suggest Hagel won't be traded unless it is for a first and a top prospect, I doubt a team is going to overpay like that, but I think he would be worth a first or a really good prospect, not both. I get it Hagel is a good young player on a great contract, and the Hawks have no reason to trade him unless its an overpay, but that doesn't mean teams are going to line up to overpay.
This site loves to overvalue third line players and bottom pairing D, especially if the D is a RHD, then all hell breaks loose. A lot of people come here just to troll leaf posts too because its the cool thing to do, they suggest leaf players are worthless and any leaf trade has to be a severe overpay, just because its the leafs. Leafs have to be giving up first round picks and/or top prospects on here for players that would never command that type of return.</div></div>
Top prospect is extremely vague however. If it’s said they’re best prospect that’s different. Hiroven is a top prospect. B+ prospect that looks like a he can be Palat type of player if everything goes right. Even it doesn’t he’s be a solid 3rd liner that can play higher if needed.
Also to your point of the hawks need an overpay for player of Hagel calibre people forget who does the hawks have in the system rn. They’re a mediocre teams with almost no futures. Hagel is an amazing complementary player but you need the right players to compliment and those players the hawks have are at the tail end of their career. They need to retool. Get back almost NHL ready prospect and draft effectively this year and next years.

Top tier prospects like Robertson, Niemela, and Knies don’t get moved as often as people have you believe on this site.
As for what Chi GM said about how moving Hagel needs to be an overpay, so did Vegas with Eichel and every other GM who had assets other teams were interested in.
They’re getting a lot from Thai trade and easily start getting quality and quantity of prospects for a proper rebuild.

It won’t A prospects are moved for bonefish stars. When Tampa traded for Coleman they gave up Foote. Foote has a similar ceiling to Hiroven. Rindell is b level prospect that boom or bust.
Unfortunately this site extremely undervalued and doesn’t evaluate prospects effectively and correctly. Niemela, Robertson, Knies and etc. won’t get moved unless it’s for JT miller or someone who’s a star in the league. Unfortunately Hagel and De Hann aren’t that.

What I would do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>A b-tier prospect is not a top prospect. Top prospects are guys that are 100% going to be a impact NHL player, not guys who may make the NHL or guys that will make the NHL as bottom line players.
Late 1st round picks are a bag of magic beans and way overrated by fans. Statistically speaking, late first round picks have less then a 30% of becoming a NHL player let alone an impact player. There is zero reason for the Hawks to trade a 23 year old who's only played 98 games (just more then a 1 full season) and his having a breakout without a large overpayment and that's the reason the Hawks have declined multiple offers of a 1st round pick and decent/good prospect as reported. When you rebuild or even less so retool, you don't trade young RFAs that show big potential that are on cheap deals and are RFAs unless the deal is too good to say no to.</div></div>
We heard 4 1st rounders for Eichel. We gotta take what GMs and insiders say with a grain of salt. The most realistic trade will be Coleman return. 2020 1st, and Nolan Foote. In that trade I severely overpaid and y'all still aint happy, showing how bias is misguiding your judgement.
Gave a 2023 1st, 2022 2nd, Dermott and Hiroven for Hagel

I think its just poor luck tbh with Muzzin. He could've played in the bubble after game 2 but because he left the bubble to go to the hospital he couldnt return until he quarantined. For the MTL series it was LBI. its kinda annoying cause they don't disclose the injury

They've already been offered a good prospect and 1st by multiple teams and turned it down. Hawks have zero reason to move Hagel and aren't shopping him; teams are calling on him but Hawks aren't shopping him.</div></div>
But we don't know what they mean by a top prospect. For all we know it could be a B-tier prospect.
Also they do have a reason to move on from Hagel. They don't know if they have a 1st this year or next year as yet. They need to recoup picks and start a proper rebuild like they've promised their fans. The other teams interested is Florida, NYR and Calgary (probably out of the running).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>Defensive depth is very important come playoffs. Especially with Muzzin turning soft every playoffs for whatever reason.
I think if someone is moved for cap reasons, it’s likely Dermott or Mikheyev. But the defensive depth is far more important than the wingers.
I think Dzingel likely gets claimed - if not used by another team he’ll be a good trade chip to move and get a decent return. If he clears, great for Toronto because the majority of his cap hit is buried in the minors and he’s a great depth piece. If he doesn’t, then they clear the whole cap hit and they just dumped Ritchie for basically nothing - a pure win by Dubas.</div></div>
100% it is but we can already have that. Biega, Dhalstrom, Rubins are all serviceable playing in the minors. With Trading Dermott and Holl we already have 7 capable dman and Sandin can play larger role if needed.

100% but Hawks fans would disagree. I did it just to get Hawks fan to agree. If I personally was making the trade, it would be:
Hagel for Dermott, Abramov and a choice of 2022 1st or 2023 1st (this is depending on which year CHI loses their pick to CBJ)

Ik and tbh Hiroven goes round 1(20-32) in a redraft tbh.
However I will say if we do get Hagel, easily we will have one of the best 3rd lines in the league that can shutdown opponents top lines and score. He fits a subtle need in Toronto and comes with term and to add icing to the cake he's RFA at the end of his deal.
Easily this year Blake Coleman.
