Yeah there is no need for me to be rude about it, I apologize about that. It's just the trades really don't make sense (especially getting JE for those pieces and then trading him again for that). And the signings are well under the expected market, even with the the flat cap.

No I’m saying a 1st in the top 10 is worth way more than a 1st from 25-32. Like nearly double. Look at what the NYR gave CGY last draft to move up like 4 spots. You could probably search a chart of the values of each pick. I’ve seen them in the past. Let’s say the leafs are cup bound with this roster, their 32OA pick is worth 1/2 of what a top 10 pick is for example.

I agree with you that a late first round is no where near worth what a mid first or early first gets you. But I'd also go as far as saying I would move an elite/franchise/solid top 3 forward for only picks

Also, the blues aren't interested in the Dunn trade. We don't need cap coming back or another D we can't protect. The only reason Dunn is talked about moving is because the Blues have Parayko, Krug, and Faulk to protect

It was more so giving a guideline of value… almost never would a team take only picks in a deal like that. But I was trying to give the OP an idea of value for a package. I believe he is a bit new and trying to understand the how’s/whys of this site
