Giving him all the money

Description
So Kaprizov has some demands.
1) a top line center
2) all the money

The contract I gave Kaprizov is a combination of Panarin's bridge deal and the first 3 years of his big money deal. It gives the Wild five years to prove they are headed in the right direction and Kaprizov can score another big contract at the end of it.

Khovanov, Dewar, and Beckman would rotate through the season giving each a bit of NHL experience but putting no real pressure on them.

I do believe that doing this will cause Wild some real problems when it comes to the cap the next season, and I'm not certain this team can win in the playoffs.

I like it for both sides as is but Buffalo likely wants at least one 1st in any Eichel deal. Still, they should absolutely do this deal.

I've heard Kirill might pack up and move to Russia. I highly doubt it though.

How about Minnesota trades Dumba and they add whatever forward prospect they get to the Sabre trade. Not only do the Sabres not need Dmen, they dont need a 26 year old with 2 years left. Adams also just passed on Rossi a year ago, and since then Rossi got covid and missed the year. This trade makes no sense for Buffalo

I can't wait to see your reaction specifically when Eichel is finally moved.

Critical thinking really is dead. Im not asking for more, i know thats hard to comprehend. Im asking you just trade players Buffalo would want. What a concept

If Sabres do plan to trade Risto, I would assume Dumba would be be appealing then. However, if Sabres are not interested in Dumba then yes the Wild should look to make a Eichel trade a 3-way deal. The argument that Sabres passed on Rossi last year so they wouldn't be interested is very weak. They simply liked Quinn more and couldn't have both. Rossi has been medically cleared and is training hard, which is more than we can say for Eichel.

They would be smart to just move Dahlin to the right, his natural side, after drafting Power. Rossi is fine it should just be noted Adams passed on him

Power is physically ready for the NHL, but he should be developed more before he is brought up. I read a article a while back and it speculated that the Sabres problems stem from just playing all the young guys and not insulating them enough with veterans around them. I kind of agree with the writers take on that, wish I could remember who wrote it.

Power will go back to college for a year, and they would still have enough dmen for next year. They definitely can sign some veterans, but trading Eichel for 2 years of one that they know they arent bringing back doesnt make sense. Theyre much better off taking on a forward prospect instead

The Parise buyout is a trap. It's 2.6M then 6.7,-6.7, 6.7, then 0.4 for four years. Your build doesn't work in season 2, 3, and 4

Totally agree it's risky. Wild need money now though and a buyout allows them to kick the can down the road a year.
