Description

I love the canes and love how they play. I also think that the best team for Hamilton is Carolina because of how they play. However, I don't think Hamilton knows that and he's chasing money which is fine because I think it's in the best interest of the team the Hurricanes move on. They have big resignings on the horizon and a great cupboard of prospects. I think Bean will start being the pp qb very soon. He is great. Keane can take a step on the right side and could be top 4 by '23

1) That D core still isn't great. Bean struggled in the bottom pairing, playing him in the top 6 on his offside is asking for issues.

2) Trocheck was the 2nd best Cane offensively this year. Why would the Canes expose him? They're going to lose 1 of Skjei and Bean, whichever one they don't protect. But keeping Trocheck around is far more important. It took years for them to find a decent fit at 2C. Top 4 D come and go in free agency.

Granlund is a RW at the NHL level imho. I know it says C, RW but I don’t think he’s a good fit at the center position

The protection wasn't that important. Send skjei, protect Trocheck. Its irrelevant to my point. Hamilton needs Carolina more than Carolina needs him. Maybe I'm wrong, but his contract puts them in a tighter cap game for the duration of what he signs for. They'll end up regretting it when they have to let Trocheck go next year and Neidereiter
