I like Graves, but I rather just hold onto Lauzon & DeBrusk and see what it would cost to have SEA select Zboril.
Lauzon at 5v5 this year had advanced per 60 numbers that weren't far off from Graves. Of course where they separate is on the offensive side. Graves is better at generating offense than Lauzon is, but I think Lauzon still has more to offer there. It may not be to what Graves does, but that's fine. I don't see the difference in Graves and Lauzon to be DeBrusk. I get the kid had a down year, but just to run through the list of why I'm calling this a throwaway season for him...
- Covid Protocol twice (confirmed with covid once)
- Admitted to mentally struggling with the isolation (not family or significant other around) due to NHL's protocol
- Was asked to move from his natural position and play on his off-wing (something he's never really done).
- His two most common linemates this year were Coyle (career worst p/gp) and Ritchie (who was invisible most nights over the last 30 games).
It was basically a perfect storm deal for DeBrusk this year.
