At least we have Beck Warm available to play. Kochetkov and Makiniemi are also signed playing in Europe. And we've got Wells, Quapp, Hamrla, Naumov, LaFontaine, and Kucharski all unsigned. I'm guessing our AHL tandem will be Warm and Wells and maybe LaFontaine if we get him signed. We could use some NHL capable insurance goalies though. We should've just signed Ayres to an 8 year extension for every dollar Dundon had left in his back account and have a salary cap exception because everyone loves David Ayres.

I think he wanted to go back to the USA because he’s American and was worried about border restrictions. If you’re a 3rd pair banger who isn’t gonna make much money anyway, who wouldn’t wanna do that living in Florida and playing for the 2x reigning champs with a little stability in terms of contract length? Most places probably wouldn’t have offered more than 1 year, similar dollar figure, and similar spot in the lineup.
