What to do with Bobrovsky

Description
Not sure what Florida wants to do with Bob after the emergence of Dreidger and Knight this year, but I wanted to do a more unrealistic situation to see what people think.

Note: With the Bob trade, Florida may need to add a prospect, but I am not really too knowledgeable with Florida prospects.

FA Explanations:
Forsling - Comes back for 1 year, would play 3rd pair LD.
Wennberg - Does not resign with Florida, seeks out a bigger deal elsewhere
Bennett - Seemed to mesh well with Duclair and played well once he left Calgary
Duclair - Played well this year, gets a 3 year deal and plays top 6 wing
Rittich - 1 year deal to possibly in a cup and increase his value in hopes of a bigger contract next year, the safety valve if Knight struggles
Forbort - Depth defenseman, can step in for injured players

Détails additionnels:
Doug Wilson seems to have an affinity for Veteran players locked up 5 years down the line, San Jose gets a goalie and some draft picks to help the retool. Bob gets to go to a city with nice beaches, and the Panthers get rid of Bobrovsky and free up space to keep Knight. The big question is would they be able to convice Bob to waive his no movement clause, in this scenerio they do.

Nothing will happen to Bob, they are stuck with him. But I wouldn’t be rushing to give the net to Knight. Carter Hart is a prime example of why you don’t rush young goalies.

Sign and trades do not happen. That Driedger deal is just silly. As for SJ, I doubt Bob would waive his NMC to go somewhere with significantly higher taxes. Also, FLA would need to take back Jones in any deal with SJ.

Driedger is a UFA... I wouldn't think anyone trades for him without an extension at this point.
But I do want him in Buffalo.

ok, i don't want to trade him anyway lol
You can't seriously think that if we're trading 2 bad goalies with high cap hits, the one with the higher cap hit gets more value in return
That is just plain stupid

No team wants Bob, his play and his contract. Bad money would have to come back in trade. Dreiger doesn't sign that contract....and gets traded to boot. Dreiger will find much better options .

Look at Carey's playoff stats in the last few years and tell me again he's a bad goalie! Also consider the fact he's playing for the worst offensive supporting team, but still he gives them a chance to win practically every night.

To clarify, Dredger signs in Buffalo, I just gave him a contract so that I could trade him, and the trade would happen before the expansion draft

That's not a thing. That is the definition of a sign and trade, which do not happen in the NHL.

Im saying hes not under a new contract at any point in Florida. Since the ACGM doesn't allow you to trade anyone that is an upcoming UFA, I had to put him under contract even though in this scenario he would still be under the contract he is on right now since he would be traded before the expansion. The contract I gave to dreidger should be completly ignored, it doesn't mean anything. It isn't a sign and trade, I just have to do that because of how the ACGM is set up.

My gosh, you're trolling me, right? Just don't sign him in the ACGM, done and done. The way you have it set up is sending a 2nd round pick FROM Buffalo TO Florida FOR Dreidger. That will not happen. He will go to FA, and sign with Buffalo if he desires. Florida gets no compensation, and he will not sign there first. I don't know how much clearer that can be, unless you're purposely being ignorant, just to mess with me. I'm done replying to this lunacy.

The whole point is for Buffalo to get him before Seattle does, so that when Ullmark leaves they have a goalie. Thus the sentences "Before the expansion draft" and "If Ullmark leaves". Thus why Buffalo gives up a second round pick for him. The whole point is for Buffalo to acquire his rights so they can talk to him for longer and get a deal done. But clearly you are choosing instead to ignore obvious context clues and get angry over an otherwise polite forum thread so that you can be angry over "Lunacy" and try to explain my own thinking to me like I'm a 2 year old.

Sorry it's a silly conception of a signing and trade. Drieger has a UFA is going to have some "NTCs in his contract which would include Buffalo.

Dreidger isnt getting signed at any point by Florida. He is traded as a pending UFA before he signs a contract anywhere, and Buffalo would be able to use that negotiation time before free agency to throw enough money at him to sign him.

Actually one week before free agency signing period, players can negotiate with all teams. Still it unreasonable to think that just because a team has a little more time to negotiate with a player, that player is gonna to forgo his chance at free agency. And really the Sabres....players are avoiding that team now, and the only way it happens if the Sabres massively overpay....and then you have a have a unhappy player very soon.....like Eichel and Reinhart.

Depending on how they approach this offseason, I dont think the Sabres are as bad to touch as some think. They, of course, struggled most of this year but seemed to turn it around somewhat under Granato, despite missing players to injuries like Ullmark. It would be a risky decision for sure, but in Dreidgers case he would get starter money and without Ullmark there he's probably playing 60 or more games in net. Sabres would have to overpay somewhat but Dreidger could go with a shorter contract so if the Sabres decide to lose 18 games in a row again he can get out of there and try somewhere else. But if the gamble does pay off, he plays great on a bad team and gets a bigger contract the next time hes a FA.
