I wouldn't do Batherson straight up. Batherson is a young player on the rise, and Sean Monahan has been underperforming for a couple years now. I still think he's a good player, and could potentially get back to that 25G 60Pt Guy in Ottawa, but value wise this is not close.

Monahan has a no trade clause, which also need to be considered

Batherson literally has more goals and points in fewer games this season lol and is cheaper and younger

If the Sens trade for Monahan, they would be trading for the 76 points in 120 games Monahan, and that’s not worth Batherson, let alone more.

If the trade involves Batherson then it’s a lateral move at best but realistically would be a step back

I highly doubt Calgary would. Monahan is easily the most underrated player in the league at this point in time, the dumb shiit spewed about him is ****ing ridiculous.

Why wouldn't they? Batherson is younger, cost controlled, rfa. Monahan is a UFA and will want $7m + and they might end up getting nothing for him if he walks. Monahan's advanced stats aren't that good and hes been regressing since his one great season.
