Faceoffs could use some work

Hadn't thought of it myself but the concept on paper makes a lot of sense.

If the remainder of the coaching staff / management have him work on center-specific duties over the summer, there's no reason not to try and run with it in the preseason at minimum. If it works, go for it. If not, nothing gained, nothing lost, and he pushes back to the wing.

Hes got all the makings of one besides the faceoff prowess which would probably come with age anyway

I feel like if you're going to take a winger and turn him into a center, when he's pretty much been a winger all along, you want to do it when he's playing in the minors, otherwise you're setting him up for another rough year which is bad news for his development.

The Rangers were the worst team in the league at faceoffs. Making Kaako a center wouldn't help that problem

Rangers fans with kakko are really funny.

I have politiced for Kakko to center since he was drafted. Size, speed, stick handling ability..excellent vision. If he develops in the faceoff circle, it's a win, in my book. Let him center Panarin, and that's 160+points over a full 82-game season. Get a power forward to play alongside of them (Kravtsov), and that's a monster top line.

As stated above- if he does struggle with it you may stunt the development which he really is showing at wing. Also I think the strongest part of his game (in a way like Fast) is his play along the boards...so moving to C you kind of minimize use of his biggest strength...In the end- if something is working- his development at wing- then leave it alone and allow continued development.

I would agree with you to a fault. Not wanting to taint his board play, this was a skill Eric Lindros also had; he benefited from excellent wings (both in PHI and NYR) that set up his passing and shooting opportunities according to that skill.

Kakko's board play often became scoring chances, netfront; particularly with Panarin and Strome initially--LaFreniere and Chytil later on.
