I would protect Faksa if I was you. He is way better than Dickinson. Faksa in my opinion, is a very good defensive 3c, and Seattle would be happy to have him! I don’t think you would leave him unprotected though.

Think you're two mil short on Miro. And DAL's protecting Faksa...imo Dickinson's gone.

Why would Faksa not be protected? And why is our best centre at the wing? No need to sign Vatanen because Harley will play in the bottom parring to develop. No chance Kero comes back he sucks, March would be a better option.

I feel like Heiskanen is gonna argue more for a Werenski type deal if he gets bridged. Heiskanen was dominant during the playoff run last season and can use that as leverage. $5M seems far too low

I'd see if he'll take the Ekblad deal first -- 8 x $7.5m

He'll take something like the Chabot or Ekblad deal as you mentioned.

Faksa may get protected. Thinking is that Dickinson can give the Stars more flexibility, both in the lineup and in their cap, while Faksa can play exactly one position in the lineup, has less offensive upside, and is more expensive. Is more flexibility worth possibly getting slightly less production on the dots and maybe less stingy defending from the 3C? That's the debate. I think Faksa is a very good NHLer and is well on his way to 1000+ games in this league, but with Dellandrea coming up and Dickinson being able to play a similar game but with more offensive upside, keeping Faksa might be a tad superfluous given the Stars' style of play.

And I don't think Miro is going to get $6-7MM on a bridge deal. If he put up the equivalent of a 60+ point season, then yeah, but he put up a 40 point equivalent season. I think if he signed an 8 year deal right now, he'd get at least $7MM. Probably closer to $8MM. But I think he'll take the bridge, get to FA, and try to make $10-11MM.

That's because Bowness is a fool and puts him mostly with the likes of Cogs and Comeau when the game is 5v5. His offensive talents are getting hindered so much with them.

Let's say I'm perfectly content with him asking for less, but realistically I think 6-7 mil offer is the one we're going to see.
