For the boston deal you could add a first round pick to the canes side and it’s still rejected.

Hardly, funny how most fans, especially Ranger fans, will tell you how bad he is in his own end. Yet in Carolina he has been quite good defensively, one of their top PKs. Plays physical, adds some offensive as well. Would be a good fit actually. Leave him exposed and Seattle takes him. Not committed to him.

Then you won’t get Ekholm. A top 4 defenseman with a year left at a very reasonable cap gets more than just a 1st.

I don't know about "Worlds better than Skjei", given that pretty much every number available has them as pretty much par. As for his contract, I'm not sure how you can say a reliable 26 year old who's contract only runs until he's 30 is horrible.
