Dallas is not trading their 2nd pair LD (who is partnered with Heiskanen 98% of the time) for yet another bottom-6 forward, which they have 1.2 million of.

And Idk where you're getting the notion that Oleksiak's contract is "worse" than Turris' contract. I'd much rather pay $2.1M+ for a 2nd pair defenseman that plays well, that's 6'8", and prevents opposing teams from taking runs at our superstar defenseman instead of $1.65M for a guy likely wouldn't even crack Dallas' roster right now....and it's full of AHL guys. Stars decline this deal pretty quickly.

Bruins don't "desperately" needs a LD. You can look at the team and defense stats, they're more than fine. Yes, adding a top4 LD would make them better but Russell is a third pair D and he has an extension in place. EDM signed him to expose him and meet the exposure requirements.
