Don't think the Preds will take that offer cause they might get more. But they won't be getting much more. Preds fans think he is worth a lot more...but I doubt, and on CF Leafs seem to have to pay a premium in trades.

Fwiw, a complete 13th forward, a player who once declined to play outright for that team and a low 2nd in a weak draft for a good top6 forward is a very poor offer if you ask me.

Hard to predict at this time since there might be injuries coming to play, but virtually any contending team after a good playmaker is a viable option.

Flyers, Canes, Stars and Oilers come first to mind...might as well count in and TOR and FLA, should they look to strengthen their team near the deadline.

Wouldn't put it past teams who are potentially fighting for a playoff position like WPG, CBJ and MIN either.

Granlund's versatility is a valuable thing...he can play all forward positions. Also he's quite affordable. I'd wager many teams are interested.

Yeah there's always going to be a market for middle six UFAs with scoring ability. A 2nd+ is usually the going rate, but of course this year has some complications that could affect prices. If Granlund only returns a 2nd with nothing added I could line with it, but this is less than that for NSH.

Nothing against Engvall as a player, but it's his contract. He makes 500K more than a 13th forward should. It doesn't sound like much, but it's such an unnecessary place to waste cap space with a flat cap. Then there's the retaining on Granlund this season, which could prevent the Preds from retaining on others if they do have a full-on fire sale.

And then there's Vesey. Hard pass. He doesn't get a victory lap in NSH, before he heads to the KHL next year.

With the Playoff format this year and the odd draft year, I'm thinking there will be more buyers than sellers at the TDL this year. Granlund (with about half retained) would be pretty easy for most teams to fit into their cap. So I could see some team overpaying to get him.

My gut says he goes to Col.

Considering they are also retaining 1.1M I would say that it is an astronomically poor offer.

He is an expiring contract. The best you can get is a 2nd round pick.
