This is my wild idea of remaking the Habs. I'd love to hear some feedback on the value of the deals I made.

How does Seattle take Price? And your moves look like moves a rebuilding team would make and Montreal is not a rebuilding team.

For a soon to be UFA, the price for Danault looks high.

I'm not sure that Eichel trade is in Montreal's best interests, but you're right on with any trade including him would involve Suzuki.

Also, I cannot see Seattle even considering Price with the term he has left.

Tatar and Danault don't get you a first and a prospect without an extension unfortunately

These were honestly just educated guesses on the price might be after what we saw with Coleman and Goodrow going for 1st rounders last season. What do you think the cost would be for them?

I was just trying to guage how much it would take to get rid of Price's contract. What would be your offer to Seattle for Price?

Price has a nmc so he has to be protected

Nah from the Oilers. Samorukov and a 1st is a fat cost for a rental. With us likely losing one of Lagesson or Jones in expansion, Samorukov will get a legitimate look next season.

Not to mention, Tatar has struggled this season. A good prospect and 1st has got to be one of the largest returns for a rental at the deadline in recent years. I don't think Tatar warrants that, especially since he's having a down year relative to what he's done the prior two years

I'd say Goodrow and Coleman were special cases. Neither GM was in a position of having to trade either, where as MTL might be with Danault if things head south. And they both came with an extra year at a super team friendly AAV for the roles they play. I don't want to put a price on Danault, but without an extension, even a first alone is high.

You can ask him to waive and if the Habs miss the playoffs he may want to get out of MTL

Mid prospect (Voronkov) and a 2nd for Danault?

I just cannot imagine Carey Price waiving his NMC for exposure to Seattle, any more than I can imagine him in some uniform other than a Canadiens' jersey. He's the face of the franchise.

I don't think you could get rid of price's contract unless you did a 3 way trade where you take half of his cap and another team takes about 2 million. There is 5 Years after this year thats too much for a goalie making what he makes or even half of what he makes for that matter given his poor goaltending.

Maybe a 2022 first rounder but no prospects for a quarter year of Tatar. They'd be interested don't get me wrong but myself i wouldn't give up more than a second rounder and Alex Chiasson.

Fair enough. While I have you here do you think Seattle would take Weber if we exposed him?

Weber is same thing as Price.

Getting a first rounder from a rental seems unlikely unless that team is true contender and not mid league team which would likely give up a 18th overall pick. So Columbus and Oilers pass.
Don't know Flames would want that extra cap for Chiarot.

These were honestly just educated guesses on the price might be after what we saw with Coleman and Goodrow going for 1st rounders last season. What do you think the cost would be for them?

Probably a second and a decent prospect. I agree with you on that but Goodrow and Coleman but they had an extra year on their deals so they were available for two playoff runs so I think they're worth a bit more. When Tatar breaks out and plays better I imagine he'd be worth similar to what Vancouver gave up for Toffoli last year.
