oilers need broberg. nylander would be great as a secondary scorer that can play with mcdavid and match his speed, but broberg is really valuable

Pass. Definitely an upgrade on Yamamoto but not nearly enough to warrant giving up Broberg + a 1st + a 2nd

he didn’t disappear a lot last year. He’s trying to adapt to playing a defensive role w jt so that’s why is offence is stuttering, he should get going here now

Eichel is going to get 3 first two top prospects and few other things. you aren’t getting a franchise center for that

This site is called CapFriendly for a reason. Oilers or virtually any team can't take 7m Nylander without sending similar money back to the Leafs.

although I think nylander is very good, and one of my favourite players in the league, that's just a bit too much. honestly take out either the first or the second and it's fair, he's just that good

No it’s not. This is the price you pay if you want to pay double for a player. Yams is an excellent young forward who will continue to get better, he may be a point a game player playing with Draisaitl in the future. Broburg has shown excellent progression since the draft and may end up being the #1D man the oilers desperately need. It would be stupid of Edmonton to make the trade even if it were just these two players. They will be much cheaper than Nylander for the next few years, meaning there is more money to spend on goaltending and defence.

I really don’t understand how leafs fans come to the conclusion that their players, and only their players, are the best to ever play the game. Nylander’s not worth near what you say, and if he is, then go use him to win a cup.

Nothing against Nylander. He's a great player and some people criticize him way to much. But this is way too much. Yamamoto has been almost as good as Nylander, no reason for them to do this deal.

I get that this a value post but if the Leafs trade Nylander I don't think it will be for futures. I think it will be a "hockey trade" for a top 4 RD. Similar to the Hall for Larsson trade.
