Nurse for Kase haha. Oilers get a 3rd line winger, Bruins get a top pairing dman whos top 5 in defense scoring. Seems legit.

Nurse isn't a top pair D. He's only on the 1st pair because Klefbom is injured. Vaakanainen also has value but anyways, no thanks for a top4 D that can't defend.

Chalk this up to not knowing what is coming back and only knowing your team (this year)

A) You are basing an 350 game career on a good offensive 18 game stretch where he has BATTLED the sens 4 times.
B) Kase is a top 6 winger when healthy. He is a possession freak and is the exact type of cost controlled player edmonton needs. Cheap RFA who can score. He is ELITE Defensively. Again possesion numbers paired with McDavid or Draisaitl would be insane.
C) Zboril and Vaak are both 1st rd picks and Zboril take a lot of heat, but he certainly looks like he belongs. Again, two cost controlled D men who are NHL ready.
D) you are not winning this year. Kelfbom will be back next year.

Bruins reject the Oilers deal easily, and at this point based on need bruins reject the leafs deal (tho its certainly a fair trade value-wise)

See, I am not sure about that. They will likely lose zboril to Seattle and Kase hasn't played. He is potential. Vaak is also potential and with this top 4, he isn't seeing ice time for a couple years at least. Benson is a guy who is also all potential also health issues.

This would allow Bruins to protect Bjork and Ritchie as well.

This feels like Kevan miller over colin miller coming all over again. As in; Kevan Miller is better (Like Kase), but he will play 75 games over next two seasons. Health is a skill that Kase does not have.

Nurse is a top pairing D now. He's been a different player this year.

He is great but he still below-average defensively and I won't draw conclusions from a 18-game sample size. If he keeps this level of play until February 2022 let's say, maybe we could start calling him a top pair D.

I was not a fan of his play until this year but something has definitely changed.

Wrong. Nurse has played more minutes and against tougher comp at 5v5 than Oscar Klefbom has since 2017-18, three full years. That's 3 veteran head coaches - Todd McLellan, Ken Hitchcock and Dave Tippett - who trusted him above Oscar Klefbom to take on the toughest assignments. And guess what? Nurse responded by scoring 84 points in that span - a feat only exceeded by 5 defensemen in the entire league.

Yes he certainly is a top pair D. Look at the stats, look at them all. In fact he is the talks for team Canada. So that means he is top 10 in the league. Look at McDavid with Nurse and without Nurse.
