All I said (literally) is that you don't know if it's true or not... can you not read the "or not" part. Unless you work within the organization and are close to the player or GM, you have no idea if it's a true rumour or not. Maybe the guy that reported it does, maybe he doesn't. You don't know him. Just like you don't know if Gibson has or hasn't requested a trade.

But I can tell you one thing, from working within hockey like I do, it's a very limited amount of people that generally know about a trade request at the start until it goes public. & unless you're given permission to talk about it, you're breaking confidentiality in your contract by revealing it. So most don't, but that doesn't mean that some people don't.
